Holdouts
Just come accross one in my league. An 11 year guy, who is a good player, but just starting to slide. How often do these players who hold out back down in this game?
He is looking for a signing bonus, which seems very dodgy at this point in his career...... |
Trade the greedy mf.

In my experience, they almost always seem to cave by the start of the season. Don't know if it's a function of things like the loyalty rating or just random, but nearly all my holdouts show up by the start of the regular season.
edit: ugh |

I just had a guy holdout saying that he felt he was underpaid for a starter. The fact that he started 8 games due to injury and was back to 3rd or 4th on the depth chart was of no consequence. I let him wait and after training camp he decided that "loyalty was more important than money." Which I will remember when his contract expires after next season.

Trade em.
I almost always trade holdouts. It is usually an older player or a borderline starter and they are worth more to me as picks then as a higher paid player.
I even traded my young QB when he held out. Was 4th year 51/57 and wanted 6 years over 90 mil. I got 3 1s a 2 and a vertren QB to fill in for the season. I figure even if I meet their short term demands they will still be looking for a big payday in 2 or 3 years |
lol @ grammar police
funny stuff, guys |
I just don't like being extorted, I guess.
As Groucho said, "I have my principles. And if you don't like those, I have others." |
