DVD playback software

Is there such a thing as free software that I can install to watch DVDs?

I have a DVD drive but no software installed to use it for DVD playback. I took the drive from my old Dell computer and put it in my new computer, but when I tried to install the software that came with my Dell machine I get an error that says I can't use the software because it's not a Dell computer. Stupid!

So is there something I can DL for free?

There is a program called

Media Player Classic

That you should be able to search for and download for free.

some CD's (i know my Lord of the Rings ones for example) comes with InterActual DVD player bundled. So you might be able to find that for free...
