Power Rankings
Anyone have a program I could use to calculate power rankings? Or what's a good formula to use?

I don't know what sport you want to power rank, but I always liked the relative power index that ESPN uses for baseball and hockey.
Power = .25*(win%)+.5*(SOS)+.25*(OSOS) where win% = winning percentage, SOS = strength of schedule (opponent's average winning percentage), and OSOS = opponent's strength of schedule (opponent's opponent's average winning percentage). I am going to guess that you want to rank FOF teams, so that formula could be a good start. Possibly with an adjustment based upon points scored, yardage gained, net points scored, net yardage gained, etc. |
thanks... and yeah, it's to calculate for my FOF league
