This sounds like good food, that has to be good for you.
Or not....
http://www.gatewaygrizzlies.com/news/?id=2723 GRIZZLIES INTRODUCE NEW FOOD ITEM FOR '06 March 8, 2006 - The Gateway Grizzlies are proud to announce that they will be adding a new concession item to GMC Stadium for the 2006 season. The Grizzlies and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts have teamed up to create “Baseball’s Best Burger.” The burger, which was introduced at Gateway’s December 10th sale, consists of a thick and juicy burger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon. The burger is then placed in between each side of a Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut. The Grizzlies have added a unique concession item each of the least two seasons. In 2004 “Baseball’s Best Hotdog” hit GMC Stadium. It consisted of a 1/5 pound Farmland 8 inch All Beef Black Angus Hot Dog, topped with two strips of freshly cooked bacon, 1 oz. Sautéed Onions, 1 oz. Sautéed Sauerkraut and ½ oz. Cheddar Cheese Sauce, all on a fresh baked bun. In 2005, the “Swiss Brat” was introduced. The “Swiss Brat” was made up of a Landshire Bratwurst with a slice of Swiss cheese in the middle of it. The cheese was then melted and 1oz. of Sautéed Sauerkraut was placed on top. “We have had the opportunity to bring in a new concession item for the past two seasons and each of them have been very successful. We look forward to Baseball’s Best Burger and the excitement it will bring to the ballpark,” said Grizzlies General Manager Tony Funderburg. “We are excited to work with the Grizzlies this season on Baseball’s Best Burger,” said Tina Bryan, Vice President of Marketing for Sweet Traditions, the local area developer for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. “Our doughnuts have been used in such things as wedding cakes, bread pudding, fondue, and now a hamburger bun. What a fun and unique way to offer our signature Original Glazed doughnut to Grizzlies fans.” |
GROSS!!!

My arteries are clogging just reading that.
|
I'll vote in favor.
|
|
I'll make one of these at home tomorrow and report on my findings...
:D |
Two great things that...taste great together?
|
|
Since we've gone this far, why not all the way to meat Jello?
|
Actually, I have used 7 UP and Sprite when I was smoking briskets. You put it in the drip pan below, and it helps to keep the meat moist. Dr Pepper and beer also work well.
|
T-minus 2 months until their stands collapse under the weight of their fans.

Sounds like this...

Krispy Kremes are possibly the greatest doughnuts EVER. I was introduced to them for the first time at my daughter's first birthday party in the spring of '01. My sister brought them from NJ to our PA residence and I remember thinking, what the hell are those things? I didn't know glazed doughnuts could be some incredible.

As someone who works for the Gateway Grizzlie booster club and is at GMC stadium alot--I will never try this sandwhich.
|
The hotdog and brat sound good. The burger doesn't.

Yup, mine did too. That just sounds N A S T Y !! |
Who are the ad geniuses that came up with that one?
|
Agreed that the hot dog and the brat sound pretty good. I'm not even sure how this burger would work. It would seem to be too sticky to eat with your hands.
|
Let's not mock the marriage of sugar and meat...remember the McGriddle once sounded like a bad idea. And who would have thought that deep frying, dusting with powdered sugar, and topping with raspberry sauce would have been God's Own Way to eat a club sandwich?
This bears further investigation. |
I can't wait for the lawyers when someone keels over after eating this.

I must admit I love syrup with bacon. |

Any type of carbonated beverage will help tenderize the meat (don't recall the physics offhand). Rootbeer makes a good choice to use in marinades, I tend to favor Guinness. As for the Krispy Kreme burger, yuck. I do like a fried egg on my burger personally, but that's much more common and acceptable. |

More importantly, how much are these people getting paid? That's something my 5 year old can come up with. |
This almost makes the McGriddle look like a salad sans dressing.

Ahh yes, that's what it's called. That's the greasiest, nastiest breakfast sandwich I've ever had! YUK!! |
