my wife has the razr3, and its pretty damned cool.

kingfc22 03-17-2006 07:54 PM

I will be getting the Cingular 8125 soon.

stevew 03-17-2006 07:54 PM

Make and model

I am thinking of getting the LG VX8100 for verizon.

DaddyTorgo 03-17-2006 07:55 PM

Sprint (well made by Audiovox through HTC) PPC 6700.

Brand new...frikkin amazing. Tons of money, but tons of worth it. It literally is like a pocket computer. i could even be posting this from it (if i wasn't sitting at home in front of Stargate SG-1 :) )

RPI-Fan 03-17-2006 07:57 PM

LG VX 6500.

Absolutely love it.

Things I lik eabout it:

1) Date, time, bars & battery visible without un-flipping the phone.
2) One-touch manner mode
3) One-touch speed dial
4) One-touch speaker phone
5) No camera!!!
6) 3 Alarm Clocks with customizable ringtones!

JeeberD 03-17-2006 07:58 PM

LG PM 325 for Sprint.

cartman 03-17-2006 08:55 PM

I've got two: The RAZR, and the Sony Ericsson P800.

The RAZR is pretty much the only one I use anymore. They have out now in Europe the ones that support UMTS/3G. I'll have to pick one of those up on my next trip over.

General Mike 03-17-2006 08:56 PM

LG VX5200, i think.

Raiders Army 03-17-2006 08:57 PM

I have a Samsung. It's about 3 years old, but I hardly use it anymore. I have it through Sprint. I heard the RAZRs are dropping calls. Have you guys had that problem?

Ksyrup 03-17-2006 08:58 PM

I'll be getting a new phone within a month. I'm likely ditching the Blackberry but probably won't get a similar replacement right now. What phones are good for email?

Correction: VX 4500

Not at all. I think it was a problem with a recent production run, from what I can gather.

In fact, I had the opposite experience. I live a bit out in the boondocks, and the Sony Ericsson would only get one bar at most at my house. Once I got the RAZR, I consistently got 3 or 4 bars at home.

Raiders Army 03-17-2006 09:01 PM

Cool. Once we move back to El Paso, we'll probably get a new cell phone.

I have the Treo 650 and absolutely love it.

Ditto.

Ksyrup 03-17-2006 09:04 PM

Yeah, I'm looking at that if I want to go that route. I'm not sure I want to plunk down $300 for it, though, a year after spending $200 for a Blackberry through T-Mobile (which has terrible coverage here, so were ditching it once our 1-year contract is up). Provider-specific phones are a racket.

I live in the middle of a huge Valley, so I don't really get many bars at home at all. My cheaper crap emergency cell phone maybe gets a half of a bar until i get out of the valley, the Razr consistantly gets about 1. My wife hasn't complained about it, so I'd say that it works good when its not in the middle of nowhere.

Ksyrup 03-17-2006 09:07 PM

The other thing about getting a 650 is that the 700w just came out for Verizon, and if I'm looking at a 2-year commitment, I'd want a phone that will be worth having for 2 years. I assume Verizon won't have exclusive rights to the 700 forever. I just don't want to be the idiot who buys last year's model right before a complete overhaul (which I'm sensitive to with cars, anyway).

It might be worth holding out for a couple of months to get the 700. But the 650 is almost two years old now, and I still think it's a great little phone/pda.

oliegirl 03-17-2006 09:21 PM

I believe Cingular already has the Treo 700...I am resisting going to look at it b/c I just got a new palm pilot and don't want to become obsessed with getting the Treo :)

Ksyrup 03-17-2006 09:25 PM

I'm fairly certain Verizon has the only Treo 700 at this point. I believe Sprint may be next.

rjolley 03-17-2006 09:27 PM

I've got a Cingular Blackberry for work and a Treo 650 for anything outside of work.

oliegirl 03-17-2006 09:28 PM

Could be, I was in Cingular about 3-4 weeks ago asking about the Treos...I asked specifically if they had one that ran Mobile Windows instead of Palm OS and he told me the new Treo did and they had 2 of them in stock but had already sold them. I figured they only had one new Treo coming out but I could be wrong on that...

Terps 03-17-2006 10:40 PM

I have the Motorola V265 w/ Verizon. I'm getting the Samsung SCH-a950 soon.

Pumpy Tudors 03-18-2006 12:15 AM

I have a Nokia. I forget which model. I think it's called the Nokia Piece of Shit.

TheOhioStateUniversity 03-18-2006 12:17 AM

Sidekick 1 monochrome>>Sidekick 1 color>>Sidekick 2>>Now im in the big leagues with the Treo 650

I have one as well, just got it a few weeks ago, and like it a lot.

ISiddiqui 03-18-2006 01:46 AM

I'm with Verizon. I have an LG 6000, but that contract is almost up, and I'm planning on getting a RAZR V3c.

Daimyo 03-18-2006 02:10 AM

I have a RAZR and I like it a lot. If you just want a simple phone without all the extras its really perfect because of the size. I used to have a Nokia 6500 which was really nice for email and web browsing (while still smaller than a PDA/phone hybrid), but it was a bit too bulky for my tastes.

3ric 03-18-2006 02:38 AM

SonyEricsson K750i.

Emiliano 03-18-2006 04:26 AM

Treo 600 and Nokia 2600.

Ksyrup 03-18-2006 07:11 AM

Anyone with the Razr have email? That's a possibility for me if I don't want to get a Treo at the moment.

jeff061 03-18-2006 07:12 AM

Ericsson 710A.

I know I have a cellphone, but I have no clue what model and make, Siemens I think. It's hidden somewhere in one of my backbags and I rarely use it.

Eaglesfan27 03-18-2006 08:21 AM

I have a Motorola. I think it is an A840. I picked it because it was supposed to have the best signal strength and my old phone used to drop calls if I was in certain thick buildings which was annoying. This phone hasn't dropped one call in the 3 months I've had it even in some of the most dense buildings.

Kyocera something or other ... whatever was cheap with US Cellular. When I had Verizhit for two days, I had an LG VX5200.

Got the same phone as Daddy and yes it the coolest thing I have owned (it has been out since Sept but it was hard to find_).. If you can afford this piece of paradise and get by some of the quirks, it's the top of the line of the pda/phone combo's..

DaddyTorgo - There is a new update out for out phones that adds voicedial, device lock, and a whole slew of other features.. Seems to work fine except that I couldn't port the audio through my bluetooth headset like normal after the update.. I almost missed part of the Uconn game.. Checkout this site for great internet radio sites www.radio4pda.com.. GreenMonster

If anyone has pda/phone ?'s I am sure I can help ya out, I love these things and keep up on all the news and reviews..

Any info on Treo 700s for providers other than Verizon? I've seen a Sprint one rumored, but that's about it.

Yep its getting better reviews than the Motorola Razr V3.

Also seems like there problems with the Motorola Razr V3 with drop calls.

March 10, 2006: 3:39 PM EST

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile USA have temporarily stopped selling the Razr, Motorola's flagship cell phone, due to a technical glitch that causes the phone to drop calls or shut down, the companies said Friday.

Motorola said only a limited number of phones were affected and the problem would have no impact on its financial results. The Razr, lauded for its thin design, was first sold in late 2004 and is still a key product for Motorola.

One analyst, Ed Snyder of Charter Equity Research, said he did not expect a material impact from the problem but expressed concerns about how Motorola manages its suppliers.

Sprint will be the next to get the 700p which is the Palm edition phone, as soon as 6/1 but later most likely.. 700w with WinMobile5 could be out anytime soon for Sprint also but most likely still a ways off.. If you like Palm check out the 700p with new OS, but WinMobile5 is pretty impressive once I got the hang of it..

Ksyrup 03-18-2006 10:58 AM

I've never tried either, I've got a Blackberry and will be switching from T-Mobile to Alltel, most likely, in hte next month and they've got the Treo 650. I'm just wondering if it's worth spending $300 on a 650 this late in the game.

Now its not.. If you are moving to Alltel and our willing to spend $300 on a 650 look into the HTC 6700 that I have and convinced DaddyTorgo to get.. It will set you back a pretty penny, but you won't have to upgrade for a longtime, it has everything ya need (Bluetooth, Wifi, EVDO).. The 6700 with EVDO vs a Treo 650 isn't even a fair fight really, so coming from a Blackberry you will be blown away..

Mine is boring, but it works great. The Motorola i605. Nextel gets great reception in my area. I used to have Verizon, but I couldn't get reception anywhere.

I too am a Nextel user. Sextel now, I guess. I have the Motorola i730. It's got some quirks that rather annoy me. I'm not sure when I can get a new phone, but I hope that when I can, I can switch to a Sprint brand phone. Their phones are lighter and I think some of the Motorla quirks are unique to Motorola...

Just picked up the new A900 samsung that is competing with the Razr... great phone. Now I just have to find extra time to watch the comedy central vids.. other than the 30 minutes on the El each way that is...

GoSeahawks 03-18-2006 01:23 PM

Sanyo MM-8300

It's better than my old brick.
