The best advert ever (football [soccer] and beer)

If you like your English football, take a look - on Sky, when the shorter version (i.e standard TV ad) is on you can 'press the red button' and see outtakes, commentary and the full version DVD style. Words cannot describe how cool this is to me :D

Thanks for posting this - I Just emailed this around the SI team in case any of the chaps here had missed it (as I hadn't seen it before myself) ...

Very nice.

I'm sure it's cooler if you grew up with any of the players featured. I have vivid recollections of Alan Ball and Peter Shilton - just at the time that he was taking over from Gordon Banks.

I can recall chanting "Tina, Tina" to Shilts from the Roker End (referring to his much-publicised liaison with the aforementioned married female), it was a pathetic chant and I felt bad about it afterwards because he and Jimmy Rimmer were the two best 'keepers I ever saw. We don't make goalies like that in England anymore.

Great ad that, love the scene where Jack Charlton gets booked and gives a false name.

Bah - Seaman in his prime was as good as Shilton imho, although Seaman did muddy his memory imho by hanging around at least one season too long ...

Was that John Barnes in the video? Best. Player. Ever.

I liked the Nike Parklife video from the late 90's

I'll be the first Yank to post in this thread and say that I unfortunately don't recognize a single person in that commercial. I'm going to assume it is a roster of all-time great English football players, which makes it kind of cool.

Still...

I didn't see Bo Jackson one time. No wonder we've forgotten him... :(

Did Shilton have the cool ponytail and mustache, though? :D
