I knew I should have become a surgeon

Then, I could tell my wife that I wasn't just goofing off, instead I was honing my skills:

I can just picture my current surgeon in Boston playing Halo.......

Funny.
I saw a very similar story on ABC News about a year and a half ago, and started using "my potential career as a surgeon" as an excuse for my gaming.

After I realized that I probably wasn't going to be a surgeon, I started using the excuse that I was playing video games to better understand hand kinematics (my grad school research focused on robotic hands/robotic dexterity). :D

This was a joke on Scrubs a couple of years ago.

Chief Surgeon: Quite impressive, Dr. Turk. Have you been doing coordination and flexibility exercises?
Turk: Well, I have been playing an awful lot of X-box.
Todd: I'd like to play on her X-box.
