Electric Boogaloo.
Way to snub it.

stevew 06-01-2006 09:13 AM

Speed 2 wasn't as awful as i heard it was. It's not like the first one was Citizen Kane either.

do we need to review the video? that was badass.

saldana 06-01-2006 09:14 AM

caddyshack 2. dan ackroyd is normally someone i like, but he was brutal, and jackie mason sucked balls(pun intended)

sachmo71 06-01-2006 09:14 AM

The fact that I think Caddyshack II was funny makes me feel sad. :(

You need to be studied at the university level.

cuervo72 06-01-2006 09:16 AM

Hah, I thought this might be from a irate OOTP user. ;)

JeeberD 06-01-2006 09:20 AM

All of the above

WVUFAN 06-01-2006 09:20 AM

Highlander 2.

Butter 06-01-2006 09:21 AM

So, I thought some of the original movies that you got the sequels from might actually be good. If I were voting on mainstream box-office success type movies, I think the worst sequel of all time was Star Wars: Episodes 1, 2, & 3. Just ill-conceived all around.

How dare you mock Revenge of the Nerds.

Or Caddyshack.

Butter 06-01-2006 09:23 AM

Caddyshack is overrated. BIG TIME.

ditto Highlander II.

ISiddiqui 06-01-2006 09:29 AM

Dumb and Dumberer... the first one was great, the second one... baaaad

IwasHere 06-01-2006 09:39 AM

Where the hell is my option for Halloween 3?

This was the Halloween movie with no Michael Myers!!!

I still have no clue as to Why this was even considered a Halloween movie! You can't have a Halloween movie without Michael Myers.

Of these I've only seen Speed 2, so I voted for that since it was horrible.

stevew 06-01-2006 09:43 AM

George Bush......2

IwasHere 06-01-2006 09:44 AM

And, could some also throw Slap Shot 2 onto the pile.

season's of the Witch, right? My friend was an older school horror movie buff and absolutely hated that movie. I remember a drunken 15 minute rant about that piece of shit.

agreed. also the only movie I've ever considered walking out of, and the only movie I've seen other people walk out on.

stevew 06-01-2006 09:55 AM

I hate it when they make a sequel to a movie that's like 10 years old already.

bulletsponge 06-01-2006 09:56 AM

i thought the Austin Powers sequels were god awful. then again the first one sucked donkey **** too.

sachmo71 06-01-2006 09:57 AM

Austin Powers movies are funny.

VPI97 06-01-2006 09:58 AM

Attack Of The Clones is a truly awful movie from start to finish. That would be my pick for worst of the bunch, though all three sucked mega-ass.

duckman 06-01-2006 10:21 AM

Splashface 7

'Twas very bad. But #5 sets up a nice little conspiracy theory about Michael, and they never paid that off, and pretty much just ignored them in the later Halloween movies.

Critch 06-01-2006 10:38 AM

Highlander II was bad, but Highlander III was even worse.

And then the Highlander movies that were based on the tv series were even worse. They kept on lowering the bar and kept on sneaking under it with the next movie.

Franklinnoble 06-01-2006 11:04 AM

Batman and Robin
Batman Forever
Superman IV
Star Trek: Nemesis
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
On Her Majesty's Secret Service

I could go on, but that's about all that come to mind right now. This poll would be easier if you made it the "Best Sequel of All Time."

Actually I thought 5 was terible. Part 4 was best because it was most like the original. It set up alot of atmosphere that built the suspense very well, and the ending was extremely creepy.

larrymcg421 06-01-2006 11:20 AM

I voted for Teen Wolf Too on this list because it is the most egregious example of copying the original. I mean seriously, they copy it down to dialogue patterns. And they picked College Boxing as the sport we're supposed to care about, and the Dean wants the wolf to play (as opposed to, you know, football or basketball). Also, not only did they make it about Scott's cousin because MJF refused to do it, but they had another actor playing Stiles. Oh, and no Boof. Lame.

Swaggs 06-01-2006 11:28 AM

This poll made my head explode. There are so many fitting choices that I cannot decide. I might vote trout.

KevinNU7 06-01-2006 11:35 AM

For this poll I have decided that is is important that the first movie isn't very good (or didn't do very well), therefore the 2nd movie is kind of like "Why did they even bother making this movie?" If the first one did really it is obvious that they would make the 2nd.

With that said I chose Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed

miked 06-01-2006 11:50 AM

The Crow 2. So bad, went to the video store 20 minutes in and got a refund/replacement.

I sort of take an opposite view. For a sequel to be really bad, I think it is important that the first move was very good, so that there was some expectation for the sequel and actual hope that it would be good.

A crappy sequel to a crappy original film is sort of like a tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear it.

The original idea was to have a different type-Halloween movie every year. The Saga of Michael Myers was supposed to end after II, but III did so poorly, they went back to the well.

My vote would be Alien V Predator or Jason V Freddy--decent ideas 10 years too late and crappily done at that.

Well I'd suggest that the first one is at the very least one of the best action movies of its era, and go even further to note that its one of my favorite of all time. Speed 2 was a complete waste of time, and had none of the cleverness or fast paced thrills of the first one. It was set on a fucking cruise ship, for cryin out loud. Ugh.

you are wrong. shit begats shit. you can't have roses blooming from a pile of shit. but...you can have a great movie whose legacy was forever tarnished by the greed from which the sequel was borne from.

your expectations are lowered when you see the sequel to a shitty movie. but when you see Star Wars 3-6 and then go see The Phantom Menace, your entire world is shat upon, your very sense of right and wrong is questioned.
