Did a Big Triangle Just Float Across my FOFC?

Anyone else see this? Viewing an FOFC thread and an obnoxious triangle floated across the bottom of the screen and stopped in the middle.

That would get old fast.

Joe 06-09-2006 08:39 PM

no

SackAttack 06-09-2006 08:41 PM

Seen that for the last several months whenever I'm stupid enough to use IE.

I did a shaft of white light come in from the left, and exit out the right to make a prism? If so, you experienced the Dark Side of the Moon. I wish I could be so lucky.

:D

panerd 06-09-2006 08:44 PM

I keep getting Paris Hilton wrestling Nicole Ritchie, but no triangles so far.

unfortunately, it's not just IE, although it still pretty rare (as is the banner ad that drops down).

JonInMiddleGA 06-09-2006 10:49 PM

Okay, just saw it for the first time.
Annoying as hell.

Yeah that ad has made my work surfing of this board something that I'm not as happy to do.

Craptacular 06-09-2006 10:54 PM

You must assemble all three pieces of the triforce.

Franklinnoble 06-09-2006 11:01 PM

FireFox with the script blocker extension. I'm totally ad-free here.

Indeed. Best extension IMHO.

bbor 06-10-2006 12:54 AM

A pink triangle.

bbor 06-10-2006 12:54 AM

dola....queer eye for the fofc guy.

Godzilla Blitz 06-10-2006 01:19 AM

Ah...

The script blocker extension.

I'll have to look that one up.

No more triangle sightings, though.

Glad to hear it wasn't my drugs messing with me.

Ayup, haven't seen an ad in MONTHS.

duckman 06-13-2006 08:45 AM

A survey? WTF?!

stevew 06-13-2006 12:55 PM

It's not that bothersome.

rkmsuf 06-13-2006 12:56 PM

Bad-example 06-13-2006 09:06 PM

I saw the triangle, and it fuckin' sucks.

Godzilla Blitz 06-13-2006 09:15 PM

I saw it again.

You just wait. Now it's once every two weeks. Soon it'll be once a week. Then it'll starting flashing. Then three times a week. Then it'll start singing. Pretty soon it'll be there every time we open a window.

Doom! We are all doomed.

Death to the triangle.

One of these days I've got to download that no-script thingie...

Buccaneer 06-13-2006 09:16 PM

Nope. IE with AdMuncher.

Franklinnoble 06-13-2006 10:00 PM

First they gave me pop-up ads, but I had a pop-up blocker, so I didn't complain...

Schmidty 06-13-2006 10:09 PM

It doesn't bother me at all, and I hate Firefox, so it's not a biggie to me. It's a slight inconvenience.

If I get to the point in my life that a slight inconvenience makes me as angry as some of you dudes, I will ask my wife to feed me a gallon of Draino while I sleep (I wouldn't want to commit suicide, of course).

I've been meditating. I embrace suffering now.

Franklinnoble 06-14-2006 12:33 AM

Then they came for the IE users
and I did not speak out
because I surf with Firefox.

The pink triangle was the symbol gays were forced to wear on all their clothes in Nazi Germany, just like Jews had the yellow David star.

This is seriously funnier than any of the rants you have ever scrawled here. :D

I avoided firefox for the longest time because it was all the rage and I hate that shit.

I started using it and hated it until I got used to tabbed browsing and became hooked on the extensions that enhance my browsing experience.

Drink your Draino® pal, drink up.

Franklinnoble 06-16-2006 01:21 AM

Then they came for the javascript,
But I had the scriptblocker extension
So I did not speak out.

Isn't AdBlock a manual blacklist thing, though? I use that, and I had to manually add a few sites to the blacklist at first.

Now, barely anything slips through, and when it does, I blacklist it.
