Looks like I mixed it up during my walk from the barracks to here.
From 2000 to 2004, Steele's magazine ranked first with 711 points, followed by The Sporting News (718), Lindy's (726), Athlon (736) and Street & Smith's (761). Stassen also has a more subjective set of rankings in which he judges the pre-season magazines on a range of categories that includes quality and quantity of information and price. Again, Phil Steele's is No. 1. "That's the one I find myself using the most and referring to during the season," Stassen said. "The one knock I have on him is that he uses a lot of strange abbreviations." In fact, it's impossible to read Steele's publication without referring to the glossary of 120-plus abbreviations listed in the magazine. Some, like DB (defensive back), are obvious. Others, like VHT (very highly touted) or AG (away game), are not. |
Verhy Highly Touted.
