He's Back

Lebron cleared to play

never saw that coming

Qwikshot 02-05-2003 07:34 PM

BOO!

EagleFan 02-05-2003 07:39 PM

If this was Joe Blow, a second string forward, his ass would be suspended with no-one giving a damn about "immediate and irreparable injury''.

McSweeny 02-05-2003 07:41 PM

actually i doubt that Joe Blow would be suspended, frankly no one would care

jetpunk2000 02-05-2003 07:48 PM

Am I the only one who expects this guy to be a spectacular bust? Don't get me wrong, I'm not wishing it on the kid or hoping it happens, but obviously the NBA hype machine wants him to be the next Jordan, and I just don't think an 18 year old kid is equipped to handle those expectations. I mean lets say for all the conspiracy theorists that the NBA fixes the draft and this kid ends up on the Knicks. Can you imagine the press if this kid is averging 10 ppg after his first month?

sabotai 02-05-2003 07:48 PM

BOO!!!!

There's a rule. He broke it. What is so complicated about it?

Qwikshot 02-05-2003 08:00 PM

Because he's a STAR!

Draft Dodger 02-05-2003 08:01 PM

if he was Joe Blow, a second string forward, no one would give him anything to reward a 3.5 GPA

No, you are not the only one. Michael Jordan thinks he'll be an average NBA player to start and then maybe get better. We'll see if he's even that good.

I thought you were gonna say Hornsmaniac

The_herd 02-05-2003 08:20 PM

Doesn't the fact that he stated that he thought he got the jersey's for his 3.5 GPA immediately make you question that 3.5 GPA?

Yes.

DeToxRox 02-05-2003 08:36 PM

if he is averaging 10 points per game his first month, that's not too bad for an 18 year old.

jetpunk2000 02-05-2003 08:40 PM

For an 18 year, sure that's not bad. But what 18 year old male athlete in the last 15-20 years has gotten this much publicity?

a 10 ppg month isnt bad for an 18 year old but is that ok for the number one pick in the draft???

i dont know about this whole high school to NBA thing.

IMetTrentGreen 02-06-2003 01:37 AM

in retrospect, a lot of people would have taken kevin garnett or kobe bryant #1, and they didnt break double figures in their first season. for most all high schoolers it takes 3 seasons before they are any good

scooper 02-06-2003 08:19 AM

Whoo. By the title of your thread I was expecting somebody funnier and cockier.

Poli 02-06-2003 08:36 AM

Does Brittany average 10 ppg?
