All Time Favorites #3: Song

Simple. Just post what your favorite all-time song is. Can add in HM (honorable mention) if you like.

My favorite is Tiny Dancer by Elton John. Every time I burn a CD (which I haven't done in some time), it is the last song I put on.

HM: too many to mention

WVUFAN 07-21-2006 12:25 AM

"Eyes of a Stranger" by Queensryche

HM: "Trust" by Megadeth

Lorena 07-21-2006 12:56 AM

Wow, 2 at most? That's really tough but let's see:

#1 - Pantera's "Hollow" - any song that starts off slow and ends with some sick guitar riffs kicks ass

HM - Metallica's "One"- see above

Rock on biatches :D

MrBug708 07-21-2006 12:57 AM

Dragostea by Ozone

Wasabiak 07-21-2006 01:22 AM

Hmmm.....This is a tough one.

I'll go with Rush--Tom Sawyer (Neil Peart, best rudimental/rock drummer ever)

HM--Van Halen--And the cradle will rock

Johnny Slick 07-21-2006 01:28 AM

"The Goodbye Look" by Donald Fagen

HM - "Audrey Hepburn Complex" by P5

Led Zepplin-Since I've Been Loving You.

HM- Pink Floyd-Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Sidenote: I never liked Tiny Dancer until seeing Almost Famous. Now I love the song.

Franklinnoble 07-21-2006 01:27 PM

Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash

Life's Been Good by Joe Walsh

(in no particular order)

Warhammer 07-21-2006 01:28 PM

Geez, this is tough...

I would have to say either Scenes From an Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel.

Now, for a first song on an album or CD, I have to go with Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf.

Subby 07-21-2006 01:30 PM

Three Days - Jane's Addiction

st.cronin 07-21-2006 01:55 PM

Bad Dream by Tricky

"They tried to bust me but they don't have enough caps
I dipped, dived, slipped, slid, they missed me
I had to move quick or they was bound to get me
One bullet grazed me, that didn't faze me
What could I say? I was havin' a fucked up day."

Hurst2112 07-21-2006 01:59 PM

I'd have to go with '2112' by Rush (of course)

HM: 'In the Light' Zepp

I was considering a System of a Down song and this among one of them.

Great choices duckman :)

Yup, another favorite. The whole CD along with "Far Beyond Driven" are my favorites.

corbes 07-21-2006 02:55 PM

Los Lobos -- "When the Circus Comes to Town"

HM: Neil Young -- "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere"

The answer would have been different earlier this morning. I'm just too fickle for an all-time favorite song.

Thank you, DC. :)

Both of your songs are excellent choices. One is my favorite Metallica song. I came very close to naming it as my favorite. I'm a HUGE Pantera fan as well. I can never get enough of their music.

NP! Great minds think alike ;)

One of my stations on Pandora is "Pantera Radio" and they play some pretty nifty songs from bands I never heard of. A Metallica song will sneak in every now and then. I'm listening to Metallica's "Unforgiven" right now. Not exactly Pantera-like, but still a really cool song.

timmae 07-21-2006 10:24 PM

HM would be "Umass" by the Pixies

MJ4H 07-21-2006 11:04 PM

Yeah, I love it. Then again, I am pretty hung up on anything Maiden has ever done. I always liked Wasted Years, but I never really appreciated it until a friend's band started covering the song a few years ago. They did a pretty killer version of it.

mckerney 07-22-2006 04:25 AM

"King's Crossing" - Elliott Smith

HMs: "I Don't Want What You've Got (Goin On)" and "The Boat Song (We're Getting Loaded)" - The Ike Reilly Assassination
