All Time Favorites #3: Song
Simple. Just post what your favorite all-time song is. Can add in HM (honorable mention) if you like.
My favorite is Tiny Dancer by Elton John. Every time I burn a CD (which I haven't done in some time), it is the last song I put on. HM: too many to mention |
"Eyes of a Stranger" by Queensryche
HM: "Trust" by Megadeth |
Wow, 2 at most? That's really tough but let's see:
#1 - Pantera's "Hollow" - any song that starts off slow and ends with some sick guitar riffs kicks ass HM - Metallica's "One"- see above Rock on biatches :D ![]() |
Dragostea by Ozone
|
Hmmm.....This is a tough one.
I'll go with Rush--Tom Sawyer (Neil Peart, best rudimental/rock drummer ever) HM--Van Halen--And the cradle will rock |
"The Goodbye Look" by Donald Fagen
HM - "Audrey Hepburn Complex" by P5 |

Gay. |
Led Zepplin-Since I've Been Loving You.
HM- Pink Floyd-Shine on You Crazy Diamond Sidenote: I never liked Tiny Dancer until seeing Almost Famous. Now I love the song. |
Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash
Life's Been Good by Joe Walsh (in no particular order) |
Geez, this is tough...
I would have to say either Scenes From an Italian Restaurant by Billy Joel. Now, for a first song on an album or CD, I have to go with Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf. |
Three Days - Jane's Addiction
|
Bad Dream by Tricky
"They tried to bust me but they don't have enough caps I dipped, dived, slipped, slid, they missed me I had to move quick or they was bound to get me One bullet grazed me, that didn't faze me What could I say? I was havin' a fucked up day." |
I'd have to go with '2112' by Rush (of course)
HM: 'In the Light' Zepp |
Walk - Pantera
HM - B.Y.O.B. - System of a Down |
Zombie by the Cranberries.
HM - Sing for the Moment by Eminem |
Where The Streets Have No Name- U2
|
Cowboys from Hell - Pantera
HM - Ghost Love Score - Nightwish (probably too recent to call my alltime favorite yet. Jet City Woman - Queensryche |

The whole "Vulgar Display of Power" CD has a bunch of awesome songs, ditto, one of my alltime favorites. Quote:
I was considering a System of a Down song and this among one of them. Great choices duckman :) Quote:
Yup, another favorite. The whole CD along with "Far Beyond Driven" are my favorites. |
Los Lobos -- "When the Circus Comes to Town"
HM: Neil Young -- "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere" The answer would have been different earlier this morning. I'm just too fickle for an all-time favorite song. Quote:
Good choice. |
Deep Blue Something -- Breakfast at Tiffany's
Honorable Mention: Iron Maiden -- Wasted Years Yeah, my musical taste is a little diverse. |
"I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams" - Weezer (when they were good)
|
"I'll Be There For You" - Bon Jovi
|
Quote:
Nice pick. Probably the last Weezer song I was expecting to see here. Red Hot Chili Peppers- Under The Bridge (HM)Radiohead-Paranoid Android |
Radiohead's Creep
|
Pride (In the Name of Love) - U2
|

Good song, but too emo for an ATF... |
Really depends on the day. Today:
Watching the Detectives -- Elvis Costello HM: Ohio Air Show Plane Crash -- Joe Henry |
Quote:
Good choice. That's a great song. |
Aerosmith - Dream On
HM: Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here |
Quote:
Definitely gets an honorable mention from me. That C to Cm sends chills down my spine every time. |
Overkill - Front Line Assembly (Live Wired version)
|
is it just me or does everybody look at the answers people are giving and go 'what?!'
very good mix of songs...but very different tastes. |

Very Christian of you. |
Quote:
Thank you, DC. :) Both of your songs are excellent choices. One is my favorite Metallica song. I came very close to naming it as my favorite. I'm a HUGE Pantera fan as well. I can never get enough of their music. |
Quote:
NP! Great minds think alike ;) One of my stations on Pandora is "Pantera Radio" and they play some pretty nifty songs from bands I never heard of. A Metallica song will sneak in every now and then. I'm listening to Metallica's "Unforgiven" right now. Not exactly Pantera-like, but still a really cool song. |
my ATF is "My friend Peter" by Alkaline Trio
HM would be "Umass" by the Pixies |
Saturday in the Park - Chicago
HM: Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel |
Quote:
Does it say anywhere that I asked for any opinion, douchebag? Do I care if you don't like it if I am gay? |
"Mama Tried" - Merle Haggard
|
"Nutshell" by Alice in Chains (especially the unplugged version)
|
"Heartbreaker" - Led Zeppelin
HM: "Seven Nation Army" - White Stripes HM2 (had to): "Supersonic" - Oasis |
Quote:
Yeah, I love it. Then again, I am pretty hung up on anything Maiden has ever done. I always liked Wasted Years, but I never really appreciated it until a friend's band started covering the song a few years ago. They did a pretty killer version of it. |
"King's Crossing" - Elliott Smith
HMs: "I Don't Want What You've Got (Goin On)" and "The Boat Song (We're Getting Loaded)" - The Ike Reilly Assassination |
