NFL Coverage in the UK
I'm visiting the UK and the Republic of Ireland starting Friday/Saturday. What are the chances of me catching the Redskins game that is on Sunday Night Football? Will I need to get the Field Pass from NFL.COM and hope I can find an internet drop at 1am? :) (I'm staying in a B&B, I doubt they have WiFi)

There is a satellite channel in UK with most of the NFL, MLB, NBA games, it's named NASN (North American Sports Network). Ask in your hotel or where you are going to stay if they have it.
Here is the channel website where you can see their schedule: http://www.nasn.com/ |
Hi there,
For actual broadasts you'll need to find somewhere with access to sky sports - many pubs do, but if you're the only one wanting to watch nfl and everyone else wants to watch ladies curling, you might only get a tiny tv in a corner and no sound. This page shows the Sunday night games on Sky Sports (note the channel too because there are 4 SS channels). The skins game isn't one of them this week I'm afraid. So it might be Field Pass for you. If you're still about on Monday night and want to watch MNF live (at 1.00 am!) then you can see it on Channel 5. |
NASN doesn't show life NFL games over here.

Really? i watch live games in NASN, in fact i did past weekend, maybe it was not NASN UK but NASN Europe? In UK it could be related to Sky having the rights for those live games. |
NASN Europe and NASN UK are totally different channels. The UK channel has no NFL programming at all.
We don't get the Sunday Night game live until after the MLB playoffs finish. |
You're going to be in the UK, man. Forget about the Redskins and take in some real football. :)

You are probably going to have a big problem finding a bar open at 1am on a Sunday... I was going to suggest the Sports Cafe if you were near London or Birmingham but I looked them up and they close at Midnight on Sundays.
Out of interest... where are you staying? |
DOLA - just saw Yossarian's post. Unfortunately, if it's not on Sky Sports you are SOL.

log onto www.nfl.com on gameday and buy the week2 from "NFL GAME PASS" (only available in countries outside of the US). There you have the equivalent to "NFL SUNDAY TICKET" streamed live on the net.
I tried it last week (broadband) and it was fantastic, super quality in 1200/s and super fluid in 300-700/s. No lags at all. Since then, I ordered the entire season ! |
