Athlete's Foot

So, I have a small area of this crap on my right foot. I have been using some generic CVS pharmacy cream to get rid of it. The cream did a good job for the first 5 days or so, but it is not getting rid of it completely.

Do I need to do something with my shoes as well? Has anyone fought the battle against athlete's foot and have any advice.

BOOM!

Tough actin' Tinactin.

BOOM!

heh, I've been using tinactin spray myself, but they also recommend that you use some of it in your shoe. Obviously not cream, but I sprayed some inside my shoes for the first couple of weeks and I'm pretty much okay now. You could also use the powder for your shoes...

I never realized it was what I had, just assumed at one point that the burning, itching, cracking between the toes had to be it. Also bad smell and some oozing between the toes. As weird as this may sound, since starting the tinactin treatment, my feet don't smell as bad, barely a little.

For me, I have a patch, about as big as a golf ball, just above the ball, on the inside of my right foot. It doesn't itch. The skin just dries out and cracks. When it cracks, there's a bit of a burning sensation.

Had a bad case of this in college (damn dirty bathrooms!). Went to the doctor and he gave me Lamisil and it cleared it up pretty quickly. But he gave me the pills, not the cream. If part of it just won't go away, you may have to get them so that the medication can get into your blood and get to it (it might be deep down in the skin).
