Just to get it out there, I wasn't intending to stir up any trouble with my poll about the Wigs. I think the board loses a little something without Wignasty, but I know he left of his own accord. I thought the poll would reflect that. And I agree that my poll was not the best idea. Again, I meant no harm.

I didn't think there was any harm either. I miss Wig and his constant struggle against The Man.

Oh well.

I am not fond of popularity contests. I know that was not the intent, but it was an effect.

edit: FWIW, I also don't like thread locking.

I, for one, like the locking of threads. That way, no one can steal them.

What a quandry - I like moderators locking threads, but I also like popularity polls:mad:. That said, I don't think either wig belongs at FOFC for the simple reason that they do not think the way we all do. Confrontation makes me feel uneasy "down there".
