What kind of pregame show is that?

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it disturbing that Green Day and U2 are the performers for the first game back in New Orleans? They aren't even incorporating the tuba, trombone or trumpet players in the music. They are out there playing something, but no microphone seems to be picking up anything. This is the worst homage ever! IMHO....of course.

It really should have been the Neville brothers....

Cringer 09-25-2006 07:39 PM

I thought it was a good performance.

And those guys were chosen I am guessing based on their charity work to gt instruments back into the area to replace the destroyed ones (as they said before it started).

On a side note, I find it funny (or not I guess) that the majority of the close ups of fans were black people, yet when they did wide shots you can clearly see the overwhelming majority of people there are white. Wonder why it worked out like that..........

Maybe the National Anthem is more to your guys' liking?

Eaglesfan27 09-25-2006 07:41 PM

I thought it was an ok show. I had a chance to be there, but my friend didn't get the tickets until 4:30 and I couldn't get out of work in time to make it to the game. He ended up taking another friend who was still in the city.

Wow. I was about to post about the missed opportunity on the Vick fumble, but a great special teams play gets The Saints going early.

It appears that Mora Jr. may be in the early stages of a major chin zit. Or perhaps he just had an itch. Stay tuned.

The Saints beat my Packers last week in Green Bay, it's not the easiest thing to flip around and cheer for them this much. :D

Oops! For a minute there I actually thought you didn't know who he was. Heh. You learn something new about the Falcons every day I guess.

mrsimperless 09-25-2006 08:07 PM

Dola.

If people are commonly referred to WITHOUT their middle names then doesn't it make sense to use the junior if the first and last names are the same in a father and son relationship?

I would like to officially protest this ruling.

I bet Dierdorf AND Theismann both refer to him as Jr. as well.

k0ruptr 09-25-2006 08:10 PM

reggie a lil shaken up?

I'm particularly aware of this. My father's name was Robert Augustine Lewis, and my brother's is Robert Allen Lewis. People often incorrectly referred to Rob as a "Junior," and Daddy as a "Senior."

Some more observations:

- Suzy Kolber has no eyeballs. Yowza.

- Ed Hochuli is stacked. I would do him.

- It seems apparent from commercials that State Farm should immediately replace FEMA.

I don't blame the performers at all. I would just think that the people responsible for setting up the show would get some of the local superstars so that it would represent the city more. It just didn't feel New Orleansy (I know it is not a word) to me. Otherwise good game. I thought Atlanta would roll over New Orleans, but they are shutting down their running game.

st.cronin 09-26-2006 12:12 AM

What about people who call themselves Joe Whoever II? If you're the second, you're a junior. After that you can use numbers, unless you're actually a king or something.
