FOF 2004: Which QB is a better choice?

Quarterback A:

Quarterback B:

Tough one... A has huge upside, great measurables and will add a lot with scrambling ability, but B is excellent as well and is already 68% developed.

Right now I'm leaning towards A.

A is a better choice if you don't need him to play right away, and if you get him a mentor. B's lacking in the Accuracy and Sense Rush categories will make him merely "great" instead of "All World"

larrymcg421 10-04-2006 11:08 PM

You gotta go with A here.

stevew 10-04-2006 11:09 PM

Unless this is some sort of sick Aaron Rodgers vs Jason Campbell comparison.

MizzouRah 10-04-2006 11:10 PM

A

Grammaticus 10-04-2006 11:15 PM

Definately A

I took QB A (Leroy Hudson). Just finished the first season. He's going to be a stud, his only weakness is Timing 20/22.

First season was brutal:

16 starts 5-11 Record

Passing: 218-406 53.6% 2540 Yards 6.25 Y/A 10/25 TD/Int 55.4 QB Rating

Rushing: 48-266-1 5.54 Y/C 4 Fumbles.

What happened to B in his first season?

He looks like a stud as well and put up similarly attrocious numbers:

8 Starts, 161-269 59.8% 1559 Yards 5.79 Y/A 4 TD/8 INT 68.6 QBR; 12-29-0 with 3 fumbles rushing.

The only knock I would have had on B would have been his relatively poor rating in scrambling for a roll out QB.

I would have chosen A too. You can't pass on a 14/91 prospect with that combine numbers.

B 6'5" over some little shrimpy 6'0" guy.

Depends. Each have their assets.

Take A if:

* You can afford to sit him on the bench for a year or two.
* Your QB is active as a runner in your offense, or you plan him to be.
* You throw lots of short passes.

Take B if:

* You need a backup/starting QB RIGHT NOW! and care less about the future.
* You don't need or want your QB to run much.
* You need him to be your primary kick holder.
* You like virtual kids from cities with snooty universities.

QB A is exploding in his third year:

Career Rushing: 179-1037-6 with just 6 fumbles.

Wow. He missed 3 games and my backup put up only a 76.8 rating and 2-1 record in his absence. Lost in the Conference championship unfortunately. He was questionable with a knee sprain and ended up posting 3 interceptions in a 24-20 loss to New England.

QB B isn't too shabby:

Career Rushing: 52-164-0; 11 Fumbles

Hmmm, so QB Style actually matters? :o

RedKingGold 10-05-2006 06:41 AM

So wait....QB B grew up in Ann Arbor...but went to school at Auburn!?!?!

I think the general understanding is that QB Style affects the formations the quarterback knows / learns.
