Ah, no waiting all night in front of a store on November 16th. Second in line for a preorder at a local Gamestop. Unless they only get one PS3 on launch day, I will have one in just over a month. Sweet! :D :D :D

Cross-posting. Pre-ordered today at one of our EB Games. Left $100 deposit. We were first in line at 9:15 and at 9:54 there was no one else in line. They opened at 10 and we got one easily. I'm thinking that this wasn't well-advertised. There were only 10 for that EB Games.

I believe they only announced this as of yesterday, or last night.

Also, I'd like to thank you for letting us know of this. If I hadn't seen your post this morning, I wouldn't have known.

Yeah, that seems to be the reoccuring theme. I posted it on another message board that I regularly post on and there were several people that went to their local Gamestops and managed to secure a PS3 for launch day as late as 11-11:30 this morning.

For those that got in a preorder I'm curious, did they let you specify if you wanted the "premium" unit or the "scaled down" version?

Did they know how many of each they were getting?

If you did preorder a premium unit but they only get the scaled down will you still take it (perhaps ebay it then or keep it)?

They did let me specify so apparently they did know how many of each they were getting.

I preordered a preimum. All they told me was they were getting 10.

Yes, they let you specify. I reserved a premium unit.

They also did let us know that they would be getting 8 units in on launch day.
