On the NFLPA question, that one is a bit tricky. I think I recall that the NFLPA as simply a player representation mechanism was founded in the mid 50's, like 55 or 56. But as an actual union, it wasn't officially "unionized" until the late 60's - maybe 67-68, something like that.

cthomer5000 02-13-2003 10:02 AM

I'm going to have to say Walter Payton then.

Draft Dodger 02-13-2003 10:06 AM

I want to say Jurgenson for #3.

for #6 I'll guess Sayers.

I'm sure both are wrong

I think my answer is 1956, if that's what you are referring to as the NFLPA. As a union, I think it's 1968, but I could be wrong. It's been 7 years since my sports law class. :)

Marmel 02-13-2003 10:16 AM

1956 is correct.

Craptacular 02-13-2003 10:44 AM

6. Jim Brown

Marmel 02-13-2003 10:45 AM

Jim Brown is correct for #6.

Chas in Cinti 02-13-2003 10:49 AM

Chas

Marmel 02-13-2003 11:29 AM
