KFC unveils new logo

Oops, I mean:

Not sure what the point is of that re-design, but if I don't see any more animated, rappin' Colonel Sanders, that'd be just fine.

MizzouRah 11-14-2006 11:53 AM

:)

Didn't they change their frying oil now?

Also, the stupid "Sweet Home Alabama" guitar riff that gets "scratched" by a DJ in their commercial screams to me: Hey, we wanted to find some music that would appeal to Southerners AND blacks... how about some scratched up classic rock? YEAH!!!!

Vinatieri for Prez 11-14-2006 02:06 PM

The red apron is new. Yippee!

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 02:10 PM

I applaud KFC for keeping it's tradition, and not using a "new and improved hipper hip hop" type logo like everyone else seems to think is so great.

I refuse to even acknowledge hip hop as a credible or viable part of culture or society.

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 03:37 PM

For the record, I am not being racist at all, I just feel the whole hip hop culture is a bunch of trash.

How do you feel about the rap culture?

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 03:50 PM

I like old school rap.

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 03:52 PM

Why do people automatically consider a person a racist because they think a certain genre of music, and the culture associated with it is a bunch of trash? Let's face it, the hip hop culture isn't exactly the greatest example for how people should live their lives.

and rock and roll is?

Butter 11-14-2006 03:54 PM

So, PSUColonel, are you like the Pennsylvania version of Colonel Sanders? Should we expect to see a bunch of PFC franchises popping up in the near future?

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 04:00 PM

Yes, only I use 10 herbs and spices compared to the normal 11.

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 04:01 PM

I must admit most women find me to be finger lickin good.

LionsFan10 11-14-2006 06:08 PM

Aren't you a Federline Fanatic??

That's funny... I consider rap to generally be the "bad influence" genre, while Hip Hop is the positive, serious, thought provoking genre.

... and yeah, Rock isn't exactly a shining example of good behavior.

lighthousekeeper 11-14-2006 07:50 PM

its a lot better than their old logo:

Because it's usually followed by such game-winning lines as:

"Well, all of it sounds the same."

"It just glorifies guns, killing and murder."

"You can't understand what the hell they are saying."

"Why do those kids drive through the neighborhood with that loud music on?"

The problem is, of course. That you can associate this with pretty much any other trend setting genre. Just because you're not enlightened enough to find joy and pleasure in all sorts of musical genres, doesn't automatically deem it to be "trash." No matter how adamant you are about your position.

I think that anyone else here who listens to all sorts of genres can tell you that the more you listen to music, the more you can find something you like. But again, it's a matter of taste and preference.

The other stuff, shouldn't have anything to do with it. After all, who listens to emo and wants to be like that?

Rizon 11-14-2006 08:36 PM

I made a rap tape from jail once.

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 08:36 PM

It's more the fact that much of the genre glorifies the fact they refer to women as bitches, and Whores, and also glorifies gangstas, guns, crime, and the rest of it.

Tipper?

PSUColonel 11-14-2006 09:08 PM

I'm not saying other types of music never do this either, but it seems to be it is much more common in hip-hop & gangster rap.

KFC's logo first to be seen from space

KFC has the honor to be the first brand to be visible from outer-space, according to company officials. The 87,500 square feet logo was created by tiles placed in the Nevada desert, near the super secret Area 51. The stunt marks the revamp of the KFC logo, which now features a more streamlined image of Colonel Sanders. (click image to enlarge).

Dutch 11-20-2006 12:19 PM

The morons from PETA were protesting alleged abuse and neglect of chickens by KFC in Shreveport and didn't make the news until the folks inside took their buckets of chicken outside to eat dinner with the protestors. That was funny. And no other thread really fit me reciting that story better than this one. Though if I find one, I'll bring it up again later.

Butter 11-20-2006 12:59 PM

2 other links in cthomer's link say that this is NOT the first logo to be seen from space and that you can't really see it from space anyway, unless you consider an extremely zoomed in photo as being seen from space, as opposed to being seen with the naked eye. In which case, you can see a LOT of shit from space these days.

ctmason 11-20-2006 01:50 PM

Doesn't it seem odd that the same company that filed a libel suit against Sanders continues to use his likeness? You have to admit, ol' Harland's comments that the mashed potatoes were "wallpaper paste," was classic.

No doubt he's spinning in his grave.

Grilled chicken at KFC?

Get ready to UNTHINK KFC

Karlifornia 04-09-2009 03:22 PM

I started reading this thread, and said "Oh, sweet. That PSUColonel moran is back".

Glad to see it was just a bump.

M GO BLUE!!! 04-09-2009 04:09 PM

I actually think it would be cool if they threw a bunch of black food coloring in with the chicken & put it in a black bucket.

I think I missed this PSUColonel fellow.

I bet DeTox hated that guy.

I'm not so sure grilled chicken will do well at KFC... I mean how could I order that when extra crispy is staring at me from that heat lamp window?
