1,000 X-Box 360's(core) for $100 11/23

Amazon.com next thursday at 11pm pacific. I have to work, so sadly I'll miss out. But you can get your XBox for cheap that way, even if you have to add the x-Box HDD for 100 and X_Box Component cables for 30 bucks it is still a great deal on the Xbox 360.

Figure out how to use the 1-click if you want to get in on this great x-box 360 deal.

nevermind about the one click for the ExBox 360 purchase, it's sort of like some sort of amazon lottery. Details below.

I'm confused ... is this today 11/16 or next Thurdsay 11/23 (aka Thanksgiving)?

stevew 11-16-2006 08:56 AM

11/23

I read it wrong the first time.

No problem. Don't feel bad, I read the page twice & still wasn't entirely sure.
Heck, I've read it two more times & still don't see where they clarify the date.

stevew 11-16-2006 09:14 AM

I'll log in next thursday and try, I'm doubting I'll get one but it's worth a shot at that price.

DanGarion 11-17-2006 03:44 PM

This is at 11 AM not PM. ;)

hukarez 11-17-2006 03:47 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has the 'voting' concluded for this, thusly making the Xbox 360 deal effective for next Thursday? I know the odds are heavily in favor for the Xbox 360, much more so over that barbie doll, but I thought I'd just ask.

TazFTW 11-17-2006 03:48 PM

The voting is not over.

Oilers9911 11-17-2006 04:11 PM

I would assume this isn't available to Canadians?

WVUFAN 11-17-2006 04:35 PM

Real quick note:

The order time is 11:00 am PACIFIC time.

vex 11-17-2006 05:59 PM

Someone needs to make an ordering script.

14ers 11-23-2006 09:54 AM

The sale goes off today at 11 AM PST. Now if I can just figure out how to sync my clock with Amazon time.

Tonight I think I will be voting for the $25 Axion Portable DVD Player.

just tried adding the xbox (without the special price) to my cart and get through and got this message: *** We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. ( See geographical restrictions.) ***

so, no, it's not available for shipping to Canada...

It's only the 48 contiguous states

Oilers9911 11-23-2006 10:58 AM

I wish Amazon.ca would do somethng similar.

you and me both my friend, you and me both...

heybrad 11-23-2006 12:58 PM

I'm ready!

heybrad 11-23-2006 01:01 PM

... and I can't even get the page to load. Not looking good.

cartman 11-23-2006 01:01 PM

After I hit refresh, I got sent to vote for next week's specials.

Neuqua 11-23-2006 01:02 PM

Yep, won't even load for me.

Crapshoot 11-23-2006 01:02 PM

yeah, the site's going nuts.

Me neither.

Fidatelo 11-23-2006 01:05 PM

They are just getting hammered. This is like a self-inflicted Denial of Service attack :)

Raiders Army 11-23-2006 01:06 PM

Sold out.

Neuqua 11-23-2006 01:08 PM

Bummer.

Raiders Army 11-23-2006 01:10 PM

I had three windows open and only one came up with that.

samifan24 11-23-2006 01:11 PM

Does anyone think that a lottery system would work better?

Problem is, how would you know that it's fair? Not that I wasn't sitting there thinking some 17 year old kid has some program to kick people off the amazon.com servers...

Crapshoot 11-23-2006 01:14 PM

There were scripts running - the FW community is one very common offender on that regard.

JonInMiddleGA 11-23-2006 01:14 PM

9 windows open, I managed to get one of them to at least load the sold out page by 6 minutes after.

cartman 11-23-2006 01:18 PM

American Express has had this problem the past couple of years as well. A couple of weeks before Christmas they start offering one item per day that is well below retail value. Last year they had a Land Rover for $5000 as one of the items. Their servers got hammered as well.

WheelsVT 11-23-2006 02:12 PM

Yep, I had the same experience here. one page loaded 3-4 minutes passed the time, and it was sold out.
The site was blazing fast until just past the 10-til mark, and then "nuthin" (Cornelius from Rudolph licks his ice pick)

cartman 11-23-2006 02:30 PM

Gotta love people who feel somehow wronged because they didn't get one of the 1,000 XBox 360s. Here's a thread over at Amazon from people who didn't seem to think that upwards of 2 million people hitting one page at the same time wouldn't cause problems.

Airhog 11-23-2006 02:43 PM

what a bunch of pathetic whiny losers. Half those people are pissed because they couldnt e-bay them

Raiders Army 11-23-2006 03:00 PM

I thought it was only 1 per. They are whiny and a little grumpy for it being Thanksgiving and all. ;)

stevew 11-23-2006 04:53 PM

That was a thorough waste of time.

WheelsVT 11-23-2006 05:08 PM

forget whining, not even worth it. Like Fidatelo I had to laugh about the self-inflicted DOS. Now to take a nap after all that turkey...

bigdawg2003 11-23-2006 07:45 PM

Reading all of these people bitching on the Amazon boards about how unfair it was that they didn't get one of the systems b/c they had a super duper T3 line w/ state-of-the-art routers or God knows whatever else is pretty funny. The best ones are the people who think Amazon deliberately scammed them.

Hello McFly! Anybody home!

Amazon is taking a $200 hit on each of these systems. Do the math, Amazon lost $200,000 in potential sales. If this is Amazon's idea of a scam, it may be one of the dumbest things ever in Creation.

The fact that I managed to score one of these bad boys makes it even funnier ;-)

(For the record, I do not live in Seattle or the Pacific Northwest like some of the people may think who feel that only people near Amazon HQ would be able to get one. All in all, a very happy turkey day!)

Logan 11-23-2006 08:13 PM

There are message boards on Amazon? What will they think of next?

Congrats on your haul.

Raiders Army 11-23-2006 08:27 PM

0 for 2 today. Went by Best Buy at 6:30 PM and there were already 40-50 people there.

SackAttack 11-23-2006 11:35 PM

RA, outside my store there was an old guy camped out at 6:30 last night waiting for tomorrow's sales.

Yep. One of my co-workers was on the freeway passing our store around 1:00 PM and there was already a line with about 100-125 people in it. Crazy.
