I was just going to post this and say: Thank you Bill. May the Gramatica be Automatica.

TazFTW 11-27-2006 04:58 PM

Gramatica?

kingfc22 11-27-2006 05:03 PM

Glad I checked this thread before I posted it as well.

Kodos 11-27-2006 05:03 PM

Crap! I was enjoying his tenure!

Could've been worse...quote from another article:

The Cowboys began making calls on other kickers at least two weeks ago, inquiring into the availability of such players as former Dallas kicker Billy Cundiff. But the team opted to go with Gramatica, who has connected on 138 of 180 field goals during his NFL career.

Ugh...

Is there an Anderson brother available?

JeeberD 11-27-2006 05:14 PM

Oh hell yes! In Big Bill we trust!

I'm not sure how much better Gramatica is going to be, though...

Toddzilla 11-27-2006 05:38 PM

You know, if this had happened in FOF2K7, there would be a bug report and scads of people complaining about it...

"Waaaa! The AI signed a kicker for $5.4M and then cut him mid-season after missing only 5 FGs"

Greyroofoo 11-27-2006 06:41 PM

Wow, now who are the Colts going to sign when Adam V gets injured?

This is surprising, if only for the cap hit.

JPhillips 11-27-2006 07:35 PM

So which playoff hopeful signs Vanderjagt?

miami_fan 11-27-2006 07:47 PM

From the article

Vanderjagt also didn't like having to kick off, one of many aspects of his quirky personality that didn't always go over well with Parcells.

How the hell can you be a kicker and not like to kickoff?

Maybe not playoff hopeful but I think we all know which team needs to sign him... ;)

Crapshoot 11-27-2006 07:59 PM

I think he might end up in NE. :D

cthomer5000 11-28-2006 02:49 AM

Yeah, can't wait until the Patriots sign him and he goes 20/20 down the stretch including the playoffs, single-handedly winning them a super bowl.

Very, very interesting move by Dallas.

JeffW 11-28-2006 03:22 AM

Wierd.

I bet Jeeber is going to be pissed when he finds out his 60/60 starting QB Rick Norton in HFL is gone for the season(possibly career) and he has to struggle through the remainder of the season with 28/44 Danny White. :x

Redskins | Team could hold tryouts for a place kicker
Mon, 27 Nov 2006 22:27:08 -0800
Howard Bryant, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs has not ruled out the possibility of conducting a tryout Tuesday, Nov. 28, to find a replacement for PK Nick Novak. Novak is 5-for-10 in field goal attempts and has struggled with short kickoffs. Gibbs said, "It's a matter of us evaluating things. We work hard with Nick, and he's a hard worker. But for all of us, Nick will tell you, he needs to be consistent. He has won a game for us and that stuck in my mind. It's a matter of someone who will be productive."

Yup, I'm pretty ticked. Though with it only being "Damage to the ACL" and not "Torn ACL", I'm hopeful that it's not a CEI.

JeeberD 11-28-2006 06:58 AM

Heh, yesterday was Gramatica's birthday. Not too bad a birthday gift from The Tuna, eh? ;)

I love me some Gramatica.

JeeberD 12-04-2006 07:49 AM

Automatica, baby! :D

spleen1015 12-04-2006 09:08 AM

I was disappointed to see him get cut. I was hoping the Cowboys would make the playoffs and Vanderjagt would miss a game winning 36 yard FG.

Pumpy Tudors 12-04-2006 10:20 AM

I was hoping that Gramatica would mess up. That would open the door for the Cowboys to sign a Zendejas.

Did you notice the look of complete surprise by Parcells when Gramitica made that kick?

JeeberD 12-04-2006 05:16 PM

Probably the same look that was on my face...
