4-3 over 3-4

Question. I am playing this game managing the chargers. I am trying to switch to a 4-3 from the 3-4 but cant seem to be able to. I have my coaches set the depth charts prior to each game, so when i switched my one NT to a LDT i figured he wouldn't be played at the NT position anymore and the formation would be switched to a 4-3 to make use of other other great DT i have on my roster...but no. Anyone know how i can get around this? Does the formation used depend in anyway on the coordinator? Thanks.

Does anyone in here use a 3-4 regularly?

It seems that there are significantly more good DTs than there are MLBs, which makes running the 4-3 more efficient and slightly cheaper for talented players.

In my first season after a preference draft, I had 2 really good ends and a big time run stopper (90) and an ok DT. I had 3 really nice LBs and one ok one. The AI kept suggesting that I run a 3-4, but I just couldn't see it. My other DT was better than the 4th LB. I think it had to do with the fact that I had one guy with lots of experience at WILB, and 2 LBs that were both solid WLBs.

I personally like the 4-3 as the 3-4 requires you to blitz more to pressure the QB and I think the cons outweigh the pros of blitzing in the game. However there is one very large advantage of the 3-4. On average, good LBs are much cheaper than good DTs. A 3-4 front 7 is usually cheaper and easier to hang onto than a 4-3.
