Looking for IHOF defensive formations chart.
Awhile back, for FOF 2004, I saw a chart of performances for various defenses vs. run and pass(aggressive run vs. run, pass, blitz vs. run, pass, no blitz vs. run, pass) that gave yards/carry and yards/attempt for those for a full season. I think it was on IHOF but I'm not sure. Anyone know what I'm talking about and can link me?
Thanks. |
My Extractor has a LogFileProcessor that can generate a gameplan.html file for a given team that contains all those numbers. It is my experience that those numbers are heavily dependent upon the personnel being used to run them; I've seen my own teams vary greatly season-to-season in how they run those. Play Diagnosis in particular can have a big impact on how well the aggressive settings work against the other type of play.

Is there a way to look at blitz vs. no blitz and nickel/dime/goal line?
|
Not in Greg's utility (which is pretty cool). The typical output looks like this.
|
Uhm, am I reading it right there that the CHE defense did worst against the run when they expected the run? It would make you believe that going Pass Agressive on every down is the way to go on defense...
|
That's an older version of the report (from last year maybe). I think Greg has sinced tweaked it. I just wanted to post that to give jeff an idea of what the utility was offering.

I don't know if there was a bug with that in the version this one used or not. But I can say that I've seen weird things like that, and taken advantage of them. If your D-Line is good at stopping the run and has good play diagnosis (and maybe your secondary sucks at play diagnosis so needs to be in pass to stop the pass), they may be doing a really good job of both getting to the passer AND recognizing that the play is actually a run and stopping the RB as they go through the O-Line. Things like that can and do happen in FOF. Which is why I said you need to see how your team actually does. In 2k4, I typically play the first four games on "recommend", then tweak based on the gameplan results. And I've seen a noticable improvement in my defense after doing so each time. |

Yep, I tried it out yesterday and it's pretty sweet. May I suggest that in a future version he adds statistics for #blitzers and nickel/dime/goal line? That would make it even more awesome. :D |
He needs to redo Interrogator and Extractor and Draft Analyzer first, bud :D

When I'm done with the 2k7 log files, you'll have a database of every play ever run in your league ready for you to run any number of statistical reports on. I'll then probably provide some customized ones that I find useful. Problem is, it's going to be a while before I get there. So much to do, so little time. |
I have treid to use the LogFileProcessor with FOF2K7 and I get a crash everytime it tries to run.
Any suggestions? Nogram. |

Yes, don't run it. The Extractor suite is 2k4 ONLY. Much of the saved game data has been reworked, so nothing in there works. My new FOF Utility Suite is targeted at 2k7, but has a long way to go to reach Extractor Suite status. Working on it as best I can. |
Thank you!
I do really like the tool to extract scout and coach ratings! I am really looking forward to the 2K7 extractor. Nogram. |
