Rocky Balboa

I'll admit it. I'm going to see it. :)

bulletsponge 12-13-2006 05:07 PM

hmm lemme think.. i havnt gone out to watch a movie in several years cause i think hollywood is crap, so i think i will keep that streak alive

Anthony 12-13-2006 05:10 PM

i'm gonna watch it. at least in the trailer they admit that he otherwise wouldn't have a shot in the ring cuz of his diminished skills, so he'd have to work on pure blunt force. everyone knows he's gonna win that last fight, but who cares, we all need a feel-good story every once in a while.

Also, this is an exhibition match, and it's not for the title.

JeeberD 12-13-2006 05:47 PM

Maybe on DVD. I'm not spending theater type money on this...

Anthony 12-13-2006 05:50 PM

this is essentially Sly Stallone's last movie. outside of the Rocky/Rambo franchises he has nothing else to bank on.

sabotai 12-13-2006 05:51 PM

Yeah, I'll be seeing it.

And another Rambo movie is coming next year. I can't believe people are interested in either the new rocky or the new rambo, but this poll shows me that obviously those people are out there.

bulletsponge 12-13-2006 06:03 PM

RAMBO! tempted to go see that. unless they screw it up he should be killing terrorist

wow. i did not know about next year's Rambo. oof. that's reaching.

ok, these next Rocky and Rambo films will be Sly's last movies. i guess he wanted some retirement money and decided to milk them one last time.

Easy Mac 12-13-2006 06:28 PM

I'm down for anything that involves Milo Ventimiglia pushing his hair out of his eyes for 2 hours.

Why are you saying this?

I think Sly has shown that he is willing to take small parts in movies, guest star appearances on TV, Voice work in cartoons, and he even said yes to reality TV. Sly has many years ahead of him in milking his image on the screen.

Sorry, you will be seeing Sylvester Stalone for many years to come.

Raiders Army 12-13-2006 07:20 PM

I heard that Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot might have a sequel.

Easy Mac 12-13-2006 07:23 PM

why does this thread keep going to the top whenever someone votes?

RedKingGold 12-13-2006 07:32 PM

Demolition Man wasn't that bad?

OK, maybe it was. But it was still somewhat entertaining to see Wesley Snipes and that killer yellow mohawk.

RedKingGold 12-13-2006 07:32 PM

dola

Wasn't there some kind of MTV special when the movie first came out when they destroyed a building? Does anyone remember that?

spleen1015 12-13-2006 07:35 PM

Rocky just hasn't been the same without Mick.

atatange1 12-13-2006 07:58 PM

I'm going to go see it. But I don't think he will win the fight. I think the way it will end is with the judges scoring it for the champ with the crowd cheering for Rocky.

It will be a draw so they can have another sequel for a rematch.

The when Rocky retires as champ, his son will take over and it will be called "Rocky Jr 1"

I'm sure they said the same thing about William Shatner, before he launched a whole new career doing parodies of himself. :)

hukarez 12-13-2006 08:07 PM

Whee!

I'll be heading up to Long Beach on the 23rd to watch this with a couple friends of mine.

Karlifornia 12-13-2006 09:59 PM

I'm torn. I'm not sure it will be crappy enough to enjoy on a strictly comedy level, but I don't know if it will be good enough to warrant $10

Antmeister 12-13-2006 10:18 PM

I will pay probably go early to avoid paying the higher costs, but I plan to see it.

Makes me wonder how "Rambo" has held up over time... I may have to track that one down to view again..

Emiliano 12-14-2006 12:48 AM

Of course I'm gonna see it!

Icy 12-14-2006 01:55 AM

I'll watch it too, but probably in DVD as my wife will refuse for sure to watch it in the cinema.

SFL Cat 12-14-2006 05:34 AM

I will wait for critical response from the rest of you before I plunk down my hard-earned cash to see it. ;)

Butter 12-14-2006 06:29 AM

Am I the only person who didn't even really like the original Rocky?

I still haven't seen the entire thing and don't really care if I never do.

I am anxiously awaiting the sequel to Over the Top, though.

waltwal 12-14-2006 06:52 AM

if you go see it you are encouraging another sequel!!

That would be superb.....possible plot lines......

1. Cryogenically Frozen Rocky comes back to fight
2. Rocky travels back in time, gets young Rocky and Fights in Future for mankind
3. Rocky fights hundreds of five year olds
4. A clone of Rocky is made in the future and fights a clone of Drago

I like the poster in the background of the movie Airplane..so ahead of the time.

QuikSand 12-14-2006 08:00 AM

$175

Demolition Man had some comical moments though.

MikeVic 12-14-2006 11:23 AM

I love Demolition Man.

Vegas Vic 12-14-2006 11:53 AM

One of my favorite Stallone movies was "Paradise Alley", about three brothers who got involved in small time pro wrestling during the depression. Terry Funk had a prominent role, and he was surprisingly good.

jbmagic 12-14-2006 02:02 PM

I love the movie he made about Arm wrestling.

That movie made me think that professional arm wrestler was a legitimate career option as a kid.

Ditto. Rarely go to the movie theater unless it is something I'm really anxious to see or that the wife really wants to see. I'll probably watch this on DVD one day, but I'm in no rush.

heybrad 12-14-2006 04:52 PM

Let's see... he fought for his wife, trainer, friend and country.

I would have liked to see them do a movie where he gets shot into space and fights some droid for the Intergalactic Championship.

It just seems like the next logical step in his career.

Easy Mac 12-14-2006 07:57 PM

heybrad

you forgot he fought for his pride in #5. Now he fights for his son. Next, he'll be fighting for the slab of meat he punched.

Vegas Vic 12-14-2006 09:48 PM

The movie is getting a lot of praise from faith leaders around the country. They point out that the film exemplifies the Christian themes of faith, hope, grace, compassion, courage and second chances at redemption.

Pastors & Leaders: Their Response

Swaggs 12-14-2006 11:49 PM

I'm planning on checking it out.

sterlingice 12-15-2006 07:42 AM

I, too, love Demolition Man. Sure, hugely cheeseball action fest. But a fun, dumb movie.

SI

Are we finally going to get some Talia Shire nudity?

Desnudo 12-15-2006 10:52 AM

Cobra was an underrated movie

Wouldn't this be like making Major League 4 but it only took place in spring training?

Her character is dead before the movie starts apparently. When approached about the movie, she probably thought to herself "Didn't we already beat this horse enough?"

She's in the movie, plant humper. Or at least is credited via IMDB.
