BigDPW Jr. has Arrived!!!
 

Our beautiful baby boy was born yesterday at 3:39pm. We named him Curtis "Dale" Watson.

He was 7 lbs 3 oz and 19 inches long.

Mom and baby are doing well and we are delighted to finally find out the sex as we waited until birth! Having been on the physician side of things in medical school during labor and delivery I already thought that birth was amazing enough. Now that I have experienced it from a father's/husband's perspective all I can say is WOW! This was the most gutwrenching, amazing, emotional, and exciting thing I have ever been through! I highly recommend waiting until delivery to find out the sex also. It really made the experience that much more exciting!

Kind of funny. My niece, Dylan Sophia, was born yesterday at 3:39 AM. 6 lbs, 11 oz, and 20 3/4 inches. Congrats on your boy!

My brother and sister-in-law also chose to wait to find out the sex. As my brother said, it's one of the true surprises possible in the world. My sister's child (14 months old now) was known to be a girl, so this was great, in a different kind of way.

We will be making the move home from the hospital tomorrow morning. We are really looking forward to it. They were willing to let us go this evening but we thought it would be best to stay and make sure that the breastfeeding is going well since they have so much more expertise and support for us with that than we could expect at home.

Oh I will share a couple more photos in the next few days that show off his beautiful head of blonde hair and his new thinner frame now that the after effect (swelling) of a hard labor have subsided.
