Guilty Pleasures -- VH1 Classic

We just moved and my new cable is a digital cable deal with 300 channels. Out of all that my favorite newest one has got to be VH1 Classic. I put it on every Satruday afternoon while playing with my son and he loves those cheesy 80's videos. It's a trip watching a 2-year old dance to the Go-Gos.

I swear every weekend I see at least one or two videos by some of my favorite bands, on songs I had albums of, that I never knew they even did videos on. This weekend it was Rush's Body Electric and David Gilmour's Blue Light.

I love Rush, and saw them in concert for Grace Under Pressure, but I never knew they did a video off that album for Body Electric. As much as I love Rush that video really blew! Some pretty boy with 80's metal hair battling in a Styx Mr Roboto knock-off bad dream video. Geeze, do ya think Neil Peart had than in mind when writing the song?

Then there is the David Gilmour video. OK, dudes in 80's grey suits with the skinny ties doing the worst god-awful dance around David while he plays guitar. Did even prog/art rockers like Gilmour have a clause in their contracts stating cheesy 80's videos must have a really stupid dance thing that has nothing to do with the song?

Still, I loved it. Seeing those videos when I never even knew they existed, no matter how bad the video, is my weekly guilty pleasure that drives my wife nuts.

Anyone else derive similar joy from VH1 classic?

It's available with DirecTV and Dish Network, as well.

I watch VH-1 classic every afternoon as well. Saw Billy Squire's "Rock Me Tonight" yesterday.

I have never laughed so hard at another man's dancing.
