What Story Gets More Airtime?
These two topics will probably headline the two weeks of non-stop Super Bowl coverage leading up to the game.
|
Peyton followed VERY closely by race amongst the coaching ranks.
|
February starts Black History Month. Black Coaches win by a hair.
But don't be too upset, if it was black v. white coach, you'd have people focusing on the race of one, versus the other. Seems like now, it'll just be a story that everyone can be pleased about and move on from, versus not. Tony would rather have the attention on that anyway, versus Peyton being worried he'll choke in the big game. |
It's tough. Both will get plenty of time. It will be all-Peyton, all-day for the next 48-72 hours, then the coaches will get the attention.
But these two story lines will get all the attention. Bob Sanders will have to cap somebody's ass to get any attention this week. |
I say a black coach will lose. That's my prediction
|
I'll throw out that I have not seen the one black referee in the NFL throughout the playoffs yet. Perhaps, I missed him as I didn't see the Saints-Eagles game. He could quite possibly be doing the super bowl as well.
|
The country is not ready for a black ref in the Super Bowl.

LOL! Best prediction yet. |
This is a tough one, by the way. I think that more talk will be about Manning and possibly talking about the season of the rival quarterback Rex Grossman and how the coach stuck with him. I think more talk about the black coaches will occur mostly during pregame and after the game.

I want to know why the hell I haven't seen Hercules working a playoff game yet. Maybe they're saving him for the Super Bowl! |
ohh tough one but I think both QBs will get tons of airtime but the coaches will get more
|
I think talk about Rexxie being possibly the worst starting QB in Superbowl history should be third. Or maybe it's the most stupid QB, I can't decide.
|
#1 for me.
|
I think they'll both get skads of air time. But I think Manning will get a little more overall. Just for the length of conversations about those topics. I have a feeling that the anchors/ESPN/etc. will give both subjects their do, but I don't think they'll dwell on the race issues to long per convo.
If it was up to me, I'd just keep replaying this over and over ... (Bad language follows) : hxxp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2jCmlPCwJ0 The Dennis Green rant. Nothing was funnier to me this year. Now that, I could watch over and over. |

I am not sure of which either, but this had me thinking of some other storylines just from this season for these teams. Remember how sure we all were that Rex was going to be sitting on the bench near the end of the season? Or how loyal/stupid Lovie was for sticking with him? What about that Colts D? Both of these teams were left for dead at some points this season and overcame it to make it to the Super Bowl. It will be interesting to see how the stories play out. |

Depends on if he's going to prepare for his next game. If he doesn't, he runs away with the 'most stupid QB' award... :p Martin |
what better payton or black coachs?
