QB and Intelligence
 

In the help file it says that Intelligence is important for QBs.

Why is it important?

Does it only allow the QB to learn plays faster, or does high intelligence help in other ways?

I have a 2 QBs. One with high intelligence and mediocre ratings and another QB with very good ratings but low intelligence. I'm trying to figure out which QB I should keep.

Keep the one with better ratings. As long as he knows 13 formations your offense will be diverse enough to keep defenses honest.

When drafting rookies Intelligence has a correlation to the avoid interceptions skill, which is critically important but can't be seen. Generally you're better off with quarterbacks with good intelligence (duh!)

Terry Bradshaw in my HFL team has very low intelligence and, try as I might, I can't get his formation knowledge over 9. This really hamstrings my offence to such an extent that I've replaced him with a quarterback with lower ratings but more formations (oh and higher avoid ints - we're still 2004).

Therefore QB intelligence affects 'avoid interceptions' and the number of formations and/or how fast he learns formations.
Anything else?

Does Intelligence change as he becomes more experienced?

I'm not sure about the connection, at least in 2K4, I've seen many QBs with low intelligence and a high avoid interception rating. Maybe it's changed for 2K7?

Actually you're right. There's a correlation between Sole score and avoid ints. There's also a correlation between Sole score and intelligence. Once you've got two correlations it starts to get a bit dodgy to draw a comparison and, obviously, even with one correlation its not always going to be accurate.

I still think it's generally the case that the brighter a quarterback is the better the chances are that he'll have a decent avoid int ability.

Not only avoid INT, but I think high INT helps his read defense skill which helps avoid the double team. It also seems to help timing, but I'm not sure how close that correlation is.

I think with QBs the following applies:

Screen and short passing -> agility
Medium -> agility and strength
Long and deep passing -> strength
Accuracy ->
Timing -> Agility and intelligence
Read defense -> INT
Two minute offense ->
Scramble Frequency -> 40 time
