Lil' help: 550 relaying mail is not allowed

550 relaying mail to yahoo.com is not allowed

That's my issue. I'm using Outlook 03, and I realized last week when passing emails back and forth with Will's family that my email to them wasn't being sent. Instead, I'd get messages similar to what is above.

Emails to myself are good, as is webmail. I'm receiving emails fine from others as well.

I've called my ISP, and stopped short of calling Microsoft.

I've updated everything I can think of, including Norton and Microsoft Office.

Any help or suggestions?

Your ISP has been blocked by Yahoo, for spam violations, probably

I'm guessing that means I'm sucking, huh? I'm also getting similar messages from hotmail.

SirFozzie 02-03-2007 03:32 PM

actually, it's on your ISP's side.

Thanks, guess I'll be making another set of phone calls.

Yep. If you're using your ISP's smtp server, it's not configured properly.

Issue resolved:

The answer is Charter Communications sucks.

A lot of places won't let you send email from an "outside" email address as a way to cut down on spamming.

Or one of their customers behaved badly.
