There's a huge server wide event going on where you turn in stuff like Heavy Leather, or Copper/Tin Bars etcetera for rewards including reputation towards your chosen faction. Huge rewards. :)

I remember the last one of those (actually, probably several iterations ago.) You can make a killing at the auction house if you work it right :)

Hell yeah. I remember making a fortune off the first one of these they had.

Actually it's probably the same event you remember, it just has to be played out on each new server.

Holy crudstunk. I feel sorry for whoever I just bought 80 Heavy Leather for 2 gold at the AH, (4 auctions buyout at 50s each) I turned that into 8 Rewards, which if all items sell at the AH could net me 10-15 gold :)
