Prayer Request
 

I got a call this evening from my brother telling me that my mom's liver may be gone. It looks like acute liver failure from abusing painkillers. She has been sick for the past few months with what we thought was her COPD acting up, but it is obviously not her only problem. She has been in the hospital twice in the past 4 months and been to the emergency room several times. Tonight, they took her to another hospital in another town because she was getting really sick, and we felt that our hometown hospital is not doing a good job. They sent her home because there is not much more they can do. They are going to do some more tests tomorrow, but it doesn't look good.

It's been a difficult few months after my father passed away and now it looks like I'm going to lose my mom soon. It's always seems like these things happen after one parent passes. The other passes shortly after. Now, I'm going to have to prepare for another funeral.

Your mother is in my prayers. I know the pain all too well. I lost my grandmother in August, came very very close to losing my mother in September, and then lost my dad in October. May the lord be with you and your family as you endure these very trying times.

No news tonight. They did a CT scan on her liver today, and they'll let us know in a few days. My brother says she was feeling a little better, so that is good. I tried calling her, but she didn't pick up the phone. I figured she was sleeping. I'll let you guys know once I get some new information.
