Perfect QB Performance

I can take no credit for this result given my San Antonio Gryphons were created from a preference draft, but I have just witnessed the best quarterback performance I've ever seen from my veteran star, Deion Fox.

29/29, 290 yds, 3 td

Sure there have been qbs with more yards and td passes and Fox is no Dean Houston, but I can't remember any qb I've ever had (FOF '04 or '07) achieving such perfection. If you're interested, you can check out the box at hxxp://www.worldafleague.com/WAFL/box2006201131.html or the log at hxxp://www.worldafleague.com/WAFL/log2006201131.html.

It was definitely exciting to watch on Solevision praying that after 29 straight completions that the coaching staff would not call another pass play with less than 2:00 to go. Fortunately, they remained sensible, let the running game drain the clock, and allowed Fox to ride off into the sunset with a story to tell his grandkids.

you can only watch solevision after that week, Correct?

The game saves all previous weeks so you can look back at any week you want.

Kodos 02-23-2007 10:56 AM

Well, technically perfect would be 29/29 for 29 TDs. :)

KWhit 02-23-2007 10:58 AM

And 30/30 with 30 TDs would be even perfecter.

PiemasterUK 02-23-2007 12:19 PM

What QB rating did he get for that?

Is that dude like Deion Sanders and Jaime Foxx combined?

His YPA and TD% are not high enough, so he can't get the perfect QB Rating.

Kodos 02-23-2007 01:15 PM

And in order to award a "perfect" rating, I'd probably expect him to make some tackles on defense, all of which caused fumbles that he returned for touchdowns.

And don't forget a fake punt where he takes the ball and runs for a TD.

Pumpy Tudors 02-23-2007 02:31 PM

If this were Maximum Football, he'd be 29/29 for 15 yards, with 3 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, and 6 sacks for -909.5592231418 yards.

I don't know if MF calculates QB rating, but if it did, it would hand him a 6.

Vinatieri for Prez 02-23-2007 02:56 PM

Yeah, but he fumbled the FG snap to lose the game.

And he probably would have caught some of his own passes too.

And slapped some little kid...

SFL Cat 02-23-2007 06:14 PM

Slapping kids is so old school.

I never knew that those 2 contributed so much to the formula --- I sort of figured that he had the max 158.whatever with those stats

158.3. Yep, each component represents one-fourth of the rating, and is capped at a specific level. Wikipedia breaks it out in detail.

I like the NCAA rating better, but I think it's just because it can produce huge numbers. They're not necessarily more valuable, and it's fair to suggest that there isn't a practical difference between, say, 77.5% and 90% completions. Either would be a great performance.
