Google maps can get you from Chicago, IL to London, UK!

LOLOL!

That's brilliant :D.

TroyF 03-31-2007 03:32 PM

Well, that is one way to attempt it on a low budget I guess.

sabotai 03-31-2007 03:32 PM

At least it's not a toll road.

AlexB 03-31-2007 03:47 PM

Bizarrely it makes you go past the south west tip of Cornwall and carry on for a fair few miles more to get to France. Not only is it mad, it's vindictive.

Karlifornia 03-31-2007 04:11 PM

Welp, gotta follow the google map. Don't wanna get cute with it and wind up at the Ivory Coast. *puts on water wings*

MikeVic 03-31-2007 04:17 PM

That's funny.

Interesting, taking into account the time Google Maps estimates driving, Google Maps believes that the average driver can swim 3462 miles in 29 days for about 119 miles a day.

Someone at Google has been reading too much Aquaman.

Passacaglia 03-31-2007 05:47 PM

Um...that's nice and all, but I live on the north side, and these directions start in the south side. I assume the directions for me are totally different?

It appears those are the standard ports of exit and entry between the US and Europe. I told it to map between my house and my old apartment in Milan, and it took the same transatlantic route.

MrBug708 03-31-2007 07:19 PM

Well it is the most common swimming channel
