Lawn Mowers (electric?)
So hot on the heels of buying our first house, we realized we'd need to be buying our first lawn mower. I'm looking at a number of different mowers at Lowes, and saw this one:
hxxp://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-Cordless-Mulching-CMM1200/dp/B000NJTFPE We like the idea of an electric, but have only used gas. We've got a small yard - our lot is .13 of an acre, and that's counting the footprint of the house - so I'm not worried about battery charge for this. There's some sloping, primarily in the front. Anyone have any opinions about electric v. gas, and/or this model in general? The other ones we're looking at are Troy-Bilt, also through Lowes (who were kind enough to send a 10% off anything coupon in the mail just after we moved in, so get our lawn mower business). |
We looked at electric mowers, but the charge life on them are poor from most reviews, which is why we didn't go with one. However, that model should be able to handle .13 of an acre without a problem when fully charged from the reviews I read. If our lot was smaller, that is the model I would have bought as they had a favorable review on Consumer reports and other sites that I checked out.

We have had the same Black and Decker cordless electric lawnmower for 10 years - just keep the blade sharp and you'll be fine.

If your lot is .13 acres, you might be able to get away with just using a weed eater.

Thought about that, but it'd take forever - .13 acres doesn't sound like much (okay, it isn't much), but it's still a reasonable size - not a postage stamp or anything. Thanks for the positive reviews... it's definately the way we're leaning, if we can find it in stock. |
I love New Mexico.

Just find a kid in the neighborhood that wants and opportunity.
