Beginner's Step by Step Guide to FOF?

I just purchased FOF with the intent on getting into a multiplayer league, but I want to play some solo play to get a feel for the game.

However, my problems are the same as they were with FOF 2004 - I have trouble knowing where to begin.

Has any experienced member of FOFC thought about making a Beginner's Step by Step Guide to the game? I'm always amazed that no one decided to put them in the game as a manual.

If not, I understand that too, I'm just putting this out there. Maybe it's just getting used to the interface, but I remember OOTP 2007's video tutorial which was so helpful and it took no time at all to get used to the new layout.

Coincidentally, I started working on a guide last week.

Don't be shy about joining a multi-player league. Noobie questions are tolerated well on the forums, and most of them run at a rather slow pace.

you have no idea how helpful that would be. heck, i bought the game without it yesterday...but i'd have bought it much sooner with it. :D

thank you for the virtual "pat on the back" so to speak. :)
i'm sure i'll have more n00b questions, but most of my uncertainty isn't so much about the game maybe, but actually the intracacies of football itself. i'm not that well versed in what a middle linebacker does as opposed to a weakside linebacker and what the difference is between a free safety and a cornerback.

getting off of fantasy football where i was only concerned with offensive players and really watching a football game and concentrating on those defensive positions and doing some football 101 reading will certainly help me tremendously. then of course we come to gameplanning...

one thing at a time!

about the slow pace, you're right - i was reassured looking at some of the online leagues last night. while some move really fast, there are some that do 1 game per week and some that space out 2 games per week which was nice to see. a slow pace would definitely be good, at least at first and i'd probably prefer that even after i got used to the game.
