Veronica Mars Cancelled -- Anyone else bummed?

I won't lie, I think Veronica Mars is an awesome show. Very well written and intelligently done. It's more geared toward the younger generation but uses lots of different references to other eras. It's a shame it didn't make it until next year.

Never watched it, but that chick is smokin' hot.

flounder 05-17-2007 01:41 PM

My wife got me hooked on the show. It never lived up to the first season, but it was still one of the best shows on TV. It's tons better than any of the other crap on the CW.

I never watched it. I was always under the impression that the Veronica Mars character was in high school, but she looked 30, so I found it disingenuous.

Anyway, "Beverly Hills 90210" was my favorite show ever.

She was in college this season.

It's good to see a primetime television series depicting someone in their 30s as a freshman college student. The last time I saw that done was Tony Miceli on "Who's the Boss?". I find this to be very uplifting.

FWIW, Kristen Bell (the title character) is in her mid-20s.

In answer to the thread's titular question: No.

rkmsuf 05-17-2007 02:29 PM

I'm bummed that your bummed but not particularly bummed regarding the show.

Heh you said tit.

It's not necessarily cancelled yet. They knew it wouldn't be on the fall schedule. Series creator Rob Thomas is working on a script that flashes forward several years where Veronica is in the FBI. If CW likes it, they could put it on at midseason.

maybe they can get the harlem globetrotters to guest star on the pilot of that

Kodos 05-17-2007 03:01 PM

My wife traded me this show in exchange for her watching Battlestar Gallactica. We both ended up liking the other person's show. Veronica Mars is better than 90% of the crap out there right now. I hope it gets picked up like Larry says it might be.

Ksyrup 05-17-2007 03:03 PM

DId the CW announce their schedule?

Malificent 05-17-2007 03:25 PM

Creator of Veronica Mars saying show is cancelled, writers gone for other projects

Damn them to hell.

larrymcg421 05-17-2007 03:30 PM

Well so much for that, but really can't be too mad at the CW. They kept it on the air for three years despite awful ratings for the entire run.

Honolulu_Blue 05-17-2007 03:34 PM

I never watched the show, but I imagine I would have liked it if I did.

She is hot and she's local (Michigan) girl. I'm sure she'll rebound.

Honolulu_Blue 05-17-2007 03:41 PM

Woah, looking at her bio, the similarities between me and Kristen Bell (the actress who played Veronica Mars) are uncanny.

She will be very disappointed when she finds out I'm married...

She looks 30. Just from watching the commercials, I thought that she was pulling some kind of "Gary Coleman at the end of Diff'rent Strokes" deal.

And, yes, maybe I'm exaggerating some part of that.
