Sign-up thread for st.cronin's game
I don't know when Tangle's game is going to end, but I imagine this game will start sometime next week, possibly as early as Monday. I'll publish the rules sometime before then. It will be a fairly simple game. This game will also feature a single 24-hour cycle, which I used in the Rome game, where night actions are due at lynch, so lynch results are immediately followed with night results.
1. JHandley 2. path12 3. LoneStarGirl 4. Antmeister 5. Lathum 6. Telle 7. DaddyTorgo 8. RendeR 9. Barkeep49 10. cartman 11. Schmidty 12. Alan T 13. Jonathan Ezarik 14. Chief Rum 15. KWhit 16. Gonzo 17. Neon Chaos 18. Tanglewood 19. Dodgerchick 20. Rules Background: You are a group of exchange students, living and studying cryptozoology in Dr. Frankenstein's old castle in Transylvania. Winter has set in, and you are snowbound until spring - there is no leaving the castle, and no way for help to arrive. Gameplay begins when you discover that your professor has been murdered by evil, inhuman beasts. Roles, human: Van Helsing - You are a descendant of the famous vampire hunter, Van Helsing. Every day, you can choose one player to "shadow." If the player is a wolf, you may discover his identity - as he will yours. If the player is targeted by the wolves, you will chase the wolves off. You may not choose the same player two nights in a row. Young Sherlock Holmes - You are a descendant of the famous detective. Each day you may investigate one player. You will discover if the player is the Mad Scientist. Good Scientist - Each day you may examine the dna of one player. You will discover if the player is a wolf. Roles, evil: Mad Scientist - You have found Dr. Frankenstein's old notes, and have begun work on an army of lycanthropes. If lynched, you will turn up as human, but for game purposes you count as a wolf. Wolf - You are a wolf, you like to kill people. There are unlisted roles in the game, as well. |

what if you can't be around at the lynch deadline?
|
I'll play.
|
You just send in your night action whenever you can. For example, if you're a seer type, and you won't be around at deadline, you send in something like this:
scan player x, if player x has been lynched, scan player y I realize it has some disadvantages, but for players like Chief Rum, and guys in distant time zones, I think it is very helpful. |
hmm, It just seems so much can change in a few hours. I am usualy gone from 3:00PM EST until after the deadline. Alot can happen in the 6 hours leading up to the deadline that can affect your night descions.

I am in .... Although I thought Pass's game was next

I agree that it has its drawbacks. But that's how this game is going to be run. |

not arguing for anything else, I'm just trying to figure out how it will play out and if it makes sense for me to play. I would hate to have an important role and not be able to fully utilize it. |

I hope you'll play. I don't recall anybody having difficulty with the deadline in Rome. As I said, I think that part of the game worked very well, and I'm surprised nobody else has adopted it. |
I think I had only positive comments from the game I did with a 24 hour clock as well, if it means much. The game has to obviously be modified some to work with it though, but thats on Cronin to make sure its ok.

Why fight it, DC? :)
I'm in. |
And, BTW, I thought the 24 hour clock worked very well in Rome, and in Alan's game. As mentioned, it was a terrific move for me.
|
|
I respect the 24 hour thing, but liked when we used to do 24/12 better, actually as it gave some time for deliberation though I understand it did slow down the game.
|
I'll play.

cool. Welcome tangle's brother! |
st. cronin, is this going to be as confusing as the Rome game, or is it going to be easy to play? I want to join, but I'm not into heavy rulesets.
|
Neon, this game will be similar to the ones you like to run. Should be pretty simple.

That's good to hear. :) I'm in, then. |
Ok, gameplay will start Monday. 1 more player would be perfect, I'll take up to 20.
I'll post the rules this afternoon. |
I'll play then. :)
|
Great crowd... count me in
|
Does anybody want to start earlier than Monday?
|
Its never too early =)

Rules published above. There's still room for one more, so I'll hold off on assigning roles for a bit.
