Can I split the file in 2 somehow?

Blank DvDs are that big no problem. If you have a DVD writer, you could fit it on a DVD-RW pretty easily.

Thats how I archive my family photo page just in case my computer dies. 2000+ family pictures ends up being too large for a CD

Blank DVDs can hold around 4,000,000 KB... so you're safe if you go that route. :)

What he said. A DVD could hold 4GB of data. You only have 820MB, so you can easily fit 4 copies of that file on a DVD. Not that you would want to do that.

And actually it is 4.7 GB.

Why not? I made a copy of my house key 3 times and I put all four of my house keys on the same chain.

There's quite a few programs out there that'll allow you to split it into two files as well if the DVD burning isn't an option. I'm assuming it's an AVI or DIVX file, if it's not then you might have more problems splitting it.

This one here is free and seems to get pretty good reviews.

Definitely easier to use DVD if possible though.

I assumed everyone had DVD burners these days. You could get them for $50, and they're really useful.

If you burn it to DVD using Nero Vison it will reduce that size because it will resize it for the crappy resolution of regular t.v. that is something like 640x480.
