That was suggested to me. I'm afraid of putting stuff in my ear. Why the heck doesn't gravity work when I turn my head. The water should pour right out.

That's the second time I've heard that this week. You wouldn't happen to be an accountant, would you?

There's a banana in your ear.

Just warning you not to jump up and down on a private plane.

You probably have wax in your ear that's keeping the water firmly in place. You can get an ear cleaning kit at your local supermarket...

rkmsuf 08-07-2007 01:59 PM

maybe it will just dry

I. J. Reilly 08-07-2007 02:53 PM

Use something sharp and a lot of force. The resulting blood flow should flush the water out.

Hope this helps.

This amused me greatly.

Mainly because this sounds like the kind of advice smurf would give to someone.

He'll probably laugh - and you won't be able to hear him!:p

CU Tiger 08-07-2007 07:54 PM

mix peroxidde and alcohol 50/50 and flush theen turn ear "down"

Thee peroxide wil oxxygenate (bubble up) and dislodge the wateer and stuck wax th alcohol will nsure quick drying of anything left.

I personally wash my ears this way every morning, for like 10 years it works well.

Call the water to a meeting, and then cancel at the last minute. The water will be wandering around the office confused.

UPDATE:

The water is still there and I have attempted no treatment of said ear.

Now I want to see how long this lasts.

Don't forget to let us all know when it leads to an infection.

rkmsuf 08-08-2007 09:05 AM

I had a horrible allergy attack in March when I went down to Harlingen for my sister's wedding. I had to get on a plane to get back and the worst thing was that it wasn't nonstop so I had to go up and down 3 times since there were 2 stopovers.

My ears were in pain after the 2nd time going down and I just kept wiggling the outside of the ear canal to relieve pressure but after that they sounded like they got stopped up and sounded like they had fluid in it. BTW, I strongly don't recommend this method to anyone (duh).

After I finally landed the third time in KC, my ears wouldn't unclog at all and it still felt like there was fluid in it. I tried swimmers ear stuff, q-tips, just lying on my side all night, etc- nothing happenend. I got worried after a couple of days of this (I'm kindof used to fluid in my ear for a day or so after swimming a lot), I went to the doctor. He said my ear drums didn't rupture but were badly inflamed, gave my some antibiotics to fight infection, and said to give it a week. After about 5 days, it felt like my ears unclogged and I could hear fine again.

Hopefully something similar happened to you. But, what the hell, get to a doctor at least and prevent that infection.
