UHAUL
How much would it cost to rent a UHAUL for a few hours? A mini sized one.
|
Anyone nervously running a forum search to see if Shorty has posted anything about buying fertilizer and blasting caps lately?
|
Yeah, but then what would he care about a few hours. He's not going to be alive for them to charge him anyways ;)

$19.95 plus $0.69 per mile.

Yea but it doesn't give any prices until you're like commiting into what you want, etc |

At first glance that looks real cheap until I start driving from Dayton to Cincinnati  |

From Dayton to Cincinnati is $129.00 one way. |
It depends on if it has enough space, but usually you can get one of the 4x8 enclosed trailers for like $10 per day. But that also depends on having a vehicle that can tow it.

At least it's not Los Angeles to Green Bay. I'll let you do the math. :p |
You can usually call places in town that have rental tracks. U-Haul, Ryder or whatever. It's usually just a moving place and they can tell you their rates and it's usually better that way, because they can tell you up to the minute if they have any trucks in, versus online where it might say they do and they don't...or they say they don't and they do.
|
Shorty, be careful with their $19.95 price. It's not really that price. They make you buy insurance and stuff. Even the smallest size will run you over $100.00. And always get one size bigger than you think you will need. I'm glad I did that when I moved. I still barely fit everything. And it was about $200 total when I was finished for the 17 foot uhaul.

Mileage varies by city and insurance requirements vary by state. As previously stated, if you can do it the trailer is easily the cheapest option.
|
is shorty old enough to rent a u-haul?
seriously, i think you have to be 25 |
If you're looking at a mini-sized u-haul, at least check the prices at a site like hotwire for a one day minivan rental, if there's any shot you could do your hauling in something like that. Major care rental joints are basically all free unlimited mileage, which might make a big difference for that distance and back.
Plus, you and your boys can saddle up the minivan and go cruising for MILFs after you're all worked up and sweaty from your haulin' duties. Just sayin'. |
If you're willing to pay slightly more, I highly recommend Penske trucks. We've used them twice already for long distance moves and never had a problem. Almost every time we used Uhaul, their trucks seemed unstable and they were short distance moves.
Google "Penske or Uhaul" and see for yourself. Penske has newer trucks, they're air conditioned, and are much more comfortable. |
