Just to clarify, I recognize two folks...are there more that are real names for people here at FOFC? and are you brian sakowski?
|
What kind of fucking moron thinks that the national champion will come from Conference USA or the Sun Belt?
|
bsak16 = Brian Sakowski
Swaggs = Charlie Swager EasyMac = Chris Mason Cartman = Greg Gowins Dodgerchick = Lorena Pumpy Tudors = Cyril Tircuit And everyone knows Jim Gindin. |

Thanks. I obviously knew Jim, but only recognized Cartman and Dodgerchick. |
Quote:
Oh no you di'int!! |
This should be fun, especially when I pick against the wife.
|
Quote:
What are you talking about? You're not even on the list. |
Quote:
Thanks for blowing my cover. I wanted people to think I was one of the entrants, you arse. |
After giving it additional thought, I think I might drop out if jbmagic doesn't sign on to pick games with us.
|
Unfortuanately all the Average Joes are going to suck except Greg. I think Pumpy knows way more about Arena Football and hockey and DC is probably going to flip a coin. Greg is your best bet, but he is going to be ridiculous when picking a game with the Longhorns. However Greg is a college football junkie.
|
But I will give DC moral support because now she is probably going to learn as much as possible about college football and shove it in my face later on.
|
Wait, you mean we're not picking Arena Football? What the hell? I should've known something was up when they asked me to sign on 5 months before the start of the season.

I can see how some people might confuse someone named Brian with ANTmeister... right. Quote:
That's more like it, thanks Buh :) |
Quote:
Shit I thought I missed some but I recognized everyone's real name, except for cartman but using context clues figured Greg was cartman. |
Hey, where's my prize for beating all of you last year?
|

|
Quote:
Well you missed this name: Tony Delbusso Isn't Tony short for Anthony. Awww, you just got moded! :D |
Quote:
If you get kicked out of the house, you can crash on my couch tonight :D |
Quote:
Am I the only one that caught this? Is this some sort of odd pet name? Should we all start calling Antmeister "Buh"? |
Quote:
Thanks sir. |
Quote:
It just has to be a typo. |
Quote:
But, you must be off of the couch by tomorrow evening, when I burn it to celebrate WVU's opening game victory over WMU. :) |
Week 1 picks are posted on ITB

Yeah, what a maroon. |
Cheer on my favorite FOFCer? What are you talking about? I don't see a single mention of Farrah in this thread...
|
This is a strange thread.

Okay, Dodgerchick is leading this thing and she head has grown slightly. It's still early, but the fact that she is leading the pack is confusing considering we don't even have cable at this point and we aren't huge college football fans. But all of the sudden, she is researching teams and going by gut feelings. Plus she is beating me in Yahoo Pickem so this may be a long year. I may have no bragging rights this year.

Oh and go Dodgerchick....hooray!
|
Yikes! Ant if you cursed me, some shizznit is going down.
|
This Cyril guy ain't doing so hot.
|
I thought I was supposed to name the loser of each game. I actually got all my picks right!
|
Maybe I need to start picking the teams based on who has the prettiest uniforms... ;)
|
Okay, you guys gotta do something. As it stands now, Dodgerchick will take sole position of first place. Last week she was tied for first as seen below:
Operation Pick Em - Week 9 Results by Brian Sakowski @ 6:50 am. Filed under Pick Em Contest Once again everyone got burned with Connecticut beating South Florida, and only one person got the Georgia-Florida game correct. Here are the standings after Week 9. 1t. Mike Rizzo - 39-23 (4-4) 1t. Lorena The Dodgerchick - 39-23 (5-3) 3t. Adam Nettina - 38-24 (4-4) 3t. Greg Gowins - 38-24 (6-2) 5. Jim Gindin - 37-25 (5-3) 6t. Bruce Feldman - 36-26 (2-6) 6t. Tony Delbusso - 36-26 (3-5) 8. Charlie Swager - 35-27 (3-5) 9. John Radcliff - 33-29 (4-4) 10t. Brian Sakowski - 31-31 (2-6) 10t. Chris Mason - 31-31 (3-5) 11. Cyril Tircuit - 30-32 (3-5) 12. Jon Johnston - 29-33 (2-6) But right now she is about to be 8-0 for this week if Oklahoma holds that 35-7 lead against Texas A&M: Lorena The Dodgerchick - Navy, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, Connecticut, Ohio State, LSU, Oregon I am not going to hear the end of it if she continues to dominate you guys. WTF?! We don't even watch college football unless it is a good bowl game. |
Dodgerchick....obliterating thte competition one game at a time.
Operation Pick Em - Week 10 Results by Brian Sakowski @ 7:21 am. Filed under Pick Em Contest This week Lorena picked all 8 games correct and no one finished the week below .500. 1. Lorena The Dodgerchick - 47-23 (8-0) 2t. Mike Rizzo - 45-25 (6-2) 2t. Greg Gowins - 45-25 (7-1) 4. Jim Gindin - 44-26 (7-1) 5. Adam Nettina - 43-27 (5-3) 6t. Bruce Feldman - 42-28 (6-2) 6t. Charlie Swager - 42-28 (7-1) 8. Tony Delbusso - 41-29 (5-3) 9. John Radcliff - 38-32 (5-3) 10. Chris Mason - 36-34 (5-3) 11t. Brian Sakowski - 35-35 (4-4) 11t. Cyril Tircuit - 35-35 (5-3) 11t. Jon Johnston - 35-35 (6-2) |
Hey, I was only one game off of perfection. I should have taken the pretty uniforms in Oregon instead of counting on the defense of Arizona State...
:D |
This is the exact reason I don't get into NCAA basketball polls....because I SUCK!
|
Quote:
Well there aren't that many weeks of football left and if she ends up beating all you guys, she is not going to let me live it down.....ever! And you are going to get all the reverberation that bounces off me. And it will probably the first time I see her do the "Cabbage Patch" and the "Roger Rabbit" at the same time, as she beats me in Yahoo pickem as well. |
Well if you slip me a few bucks i can extend this into the bowl season. I never did say when the Pick Em ended...whether is be regular season or end of the bowl season. ;)
|
Quote:
Yeah, too bad that defense didn't show up on Thursday! |
Quote:
::cough:: Pumpy and Dodgerchick are awesome. |
|
Quote:
Ahem.... AHEM.... AHEM... you were saying?! You should have known better than to underestimat your own wife, you know how competitive I am. And just a reminder, I'm whoopin' your ass in Yahoo pickem :p |
The funny thing about this is that Swaggs and I had to plead with Dodgerchick to join. If I recall correctly she said no at first.
|
The two weeks before the end of the season doomed me. I finished strong with a perfect week, but that wasn't enough.
Gratz, DC! |
Quote:
lol!! that's right, I did! When I got the PM from Swaggs I told Antmeister if I end up doing it, I'll probably flip a coin and lucky for me it worked out in my favor the first week. The rest of the weeks I looked at the rankings and usually went with the higher ranked team. If they were closely ranked, I looked at who they played, how they lost/won against ranked teams and went with the numbers; if they were too close, I went with my gut. I took home field advantage if the numbers were too close. Another think I noticed was that there was a trend of #2 losing and figured whoever was #2 was cursed and went with it... sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. |
Congratulations, Dodgerchick. I'll be over with your prize in about 3 or 4 business days. I'm just waiting for that crate of Cheez Whiz we talked about to arrive. Once it gets here, I'll pack it up with all the other toys -- er, I mean items -- and the fun can begin.
By the way, I hope you got that 440-volt outlet installed, because I got shit over here that's gonna rust if it doesn't get used soon. |
Jeez, I just looked at the standings. I was dead last. I dare you to try this shit with Arena Football come February. I'll kick all y'alls asses.
|
Quote:
Try me, I'll be down for it if you set it up... and I don't know shit about Arena football either. |
