trading players for draft picks in MPs (relative value)
Tried to do a fire sale of my team and it did not work out very well -- just trying to figure out if my asking prices are skewed
42/42 QB worth a 6th rd mentor Rb 40/40 worth a 5th old FB 42/42 worth a 6th TE 59/59 3rd round mentor C 60/60 3rd round OT 48/48 worth a 4th round SLB 65/65 worth a 2nd Obviously, you have to have buyers and age/contract/ stat performance comes in to play but wondering if my "sale" prices were way out of whack |
Is this a league started with FOF2K7, or a converted league?
|
Years played in the league (EXP) is pretty important here.

wanted to keep it broad and not post exact ages etc because most readers are looking for general answers ....
this is a (converted) 2k7 league vs E --- most of these were 7-9 year vets - I assumed all of these were reasonable requests for decent players (I've only been playing MP for about 6 total MP seasons) |
if they are in the 7-9 range, then yeah they seem reasonable

It also depends on the available talent and the stage of the season, but here goes... QB--In a converted league, it's possible that a team could get a QB only slight less valuable that your 42/42 guy as a leftover FA. We're in the regular season in FOFL, and there's a 40/40 guy out there in the pool. I certainly wouldn't give up even a 6th rounder in such a scenario for a 42/42 guy. RB--In FOF2K7, there are lots more mentors. This one depends on your league situation. If there's not a team with a RB needing development that doesn't have a mentor, then it's possible that your 40/40 guy is worthless. There are plenty of RBs in the 30s in the FA pool during the regular season in a converted league, so it may be that your guy's *only* value is as a mentor. FB--If his run blocking isn't much, and the draft is still to come, he's probably close to zero value. TE--You could probably find someone to take him off your hands for a third, but given how many 50+ TEs that FOF2K7 generates, it wouldn't be me. C--probably worth a 3rd round pick there OT--If he can play LT, probably worth it. If not, no. SLB--Depends on a team needing one. I'd think *someone* would be willing to pay a second rounder for him. Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it. |
thanks guys -
