You make the call: Is this still edible?
I left a piece of one of those pre-cooked salmon dinners (the kind that come in those new packages similar to tuna packages) out at room temperature for approx 30 hours. But it is in tupperware. Do you think it's still edible if I zap it in the microwave for a few minutes?

fish? 30 hours? although the fact it was pre-cooked is working in your favor as far as food poisoning, there are some NASTY things you can get from bad fish |

BUt (and here's where I probably come off sounding stupid) if you microwave it for several minutes, wouldn't that help kill off whatever baddies are in there?

You should stick it in the bottom of the trash and then pull it out this time tomorrow and take it to a truck stop off I-40 outside Texarkana and place it on a toilet seat in the restroom and then eat it off of said toilet seat using chopsticks.

I've reluctantly taken the board's advice and not eaten it.
To be honest, I would have eaten it if it weren't for this comment: "But if the bacteria have been producing toxins while they reproduce, then you will still consume those toxins even if you kill the bacteria." Using terminology such as 'toxins' makes for a compelling argument. |

Microwave fish?
Even if it did kill the bacteria that could turn your anus into something resembling a firehose, then you have a piece of rubber... Toss it out or put it in the fridge at work. |

Well I chucked it out, but the funny thing after reading the almost unanimous sentiment in this thread, is that on past occasions I've opted to eat it (salmon is my typical lunch and sometimes I skip lunch and eat it the next day).
I think I have more faith in the preserving-power of tupperware than the rest of you. |
Salmon is foul anyway, so it definitely won't make it taste any worse than it already does.
