USF-Rutgers aka College Football Week 8

Should be a fun game. Was the Rutgers crowd chanting overrated?

Crim 10-18-2007 06:38 PM

Looking forward to this. Huge. I live in Lakeland, forty minutes outside of Tampa, and Bulls Fever is everywhere. My personal opinion is, USF is prolly NOT the 2nd (or even 5th) best team in the country right now, but to this point they have absolutely earned their spot. (The more talented teams shit the bed, there are and oughta be consequences fer that)

That said, I look for USF by about 7-10 pts tonight, then to run the rest of the table (might have trouble with Cincinatti later on though). Still wouldn't be surprised if tOSU and a 1-loss LSU or Okie play in the BCSNCG.

it's like raaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiin on your wedding day

astrosfan64 10-18-2007 06:44 PM

I want Rutgers to win, but Teel scares me.

I want Rutgers to win because they are my favorite team. I want South Florida to win, because it is good for the Big East.

The Big East is solid and Florida deserves the Number 2.

You mean Florida, or South Florida?

Lathum 10-18-2007 06:48 PM

The key for rutgers is get an early lead so Teel doesn't try and force things

VPI97 10-18-2007 06:48 PM

Rutgers should win this one.

cartman 10-18-2007 06:50 PM

Rutgers has struggled at home this season. USF hasn't been tested on the road yet. Should be a good one.

Based on what exactly?

Lathum 10-18-2007 06:55 PM

nice play.

The Mrs. just looked at me and said " Maybe the punter should play quarterback"

Yeah, because playing IN AUBURN isn't being tested on the road?

Lathum 10-18-2007 06:57 PM

I would have rather seen play action on second down

I've seen both play a couple times and I don't think USF matches up well with Rutgers. I mean, if Rutgers turns the ball over a half dozen times like WVU did against USF, I think the Bulls will win...but on average, I just don't think that will happen.

To me it is all about Teel.

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:02 PM

that whole goalline series was terrible

miked 10-18-2007 07:02 PM

Booo. Why would anyone cover WRs when Lovelace is in. You know he's going to run. Bringing him in on 3rd and goal is silly. It's like the Falcons OC is calling plays in over the phone.

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:11 PM

nice stuff on third and short

If you are the underdog and you win, that isn't a test, it's an upset. A test is when you are the favorite going into the game.

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:18 PM

Christ, Teel looks tight

Young Drachma 10-18-2007 07:18 PM

Rutgers wins the college commercial game so far.

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:22 PM

great catch there.

Well when you have the first ever game played as your lynchpin you aren't gonna do to bad

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:29 PM

Teel makes some scary throws

wade moore 10-18-2007 07:32 PM

Just tuned in a bit ago, looks to be a good game so far.

jbergey22 10-18-2007 07:36 PM

Ray Rice will win this game for Rutgers

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:41 PM

great drive by RU there

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:41 PM

dola- now the D needs to step it up

That drive right there really showed what VPI was talking about in the other thread it seems.. I haven't watched either of these teams much this year, but he seemed to nail it that Rice up the middle could have a lot of success against USF.

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:48 PM

man, Grothe just got crunched

Lathum 10-18-2007 07:56 PM

This is a HUGE recruiting game for both schools. RU does alot of recruiting in Florida

wade moore 10-18-2007 08:01 PM

That muffed punt could really hurt later.

Lathum 10-18-2007 08:02 PM

turnovers continue to kill RU

TargetPractice6 10-18-2007 08:15 PM

WOW! Crazy play...

Swaggs 10-18-2007 08:15 PM

Wow...

Lathum 10-18-2007 08:16 PM

there is no way this should count

Swaggs 10-18-2007 08:17 PM

Interesting judgement call here.

The advances do look a little shady, but they may be pure judgement calls.

If they rule this correctly it won't - that was pretty damned obvious.. you gotta call ONE of those illegal.

Swaggs 10-18-2007 08:18 PM

Rutgers needs this overturned.

I think, with their style of offense and Teel at the helm against this defense, they will have a real tough time coming back from 14. USF will pin their ears back and blitz the crap out of Teel and cause some turnovers.

Lathum 10-18-2007 08:19 PM

justice

wade moore 10-18-2007 08:21 PM

That was the right call.

Swaggs 10-18-2007 08:21 PM

Who gets the second half kickoff?

wade moore 10-18-2007 08:21 PM

This kid has to learn what "throw it away" means.

Buccaneer 10-18-2007 08:21 PM

Go Bulls.

Lathum 10-18-2007 08:25 PM

why the hell are they blitzing on second and a mile?

Lathum 10-18-2007 08:33 PM

take out the horrible special teams and RU is in great shape

Texas could have said the same thing against Kansas State.
