FOF2K7 Enters The Twilight Zone...

WOOF game this morning. Lowcountry Gators playing at Jackonsville. We fall behind 30-24 with 45 ticks on the clock. We run the kickoff back to our 31, but get called for holding, so we take over on our 9 with 40 seconds to play, no time outs, and a 6-point deficit. On the next play, however, one of the Lowcountry's Gullah witch doctors must have intervened, because we got some 28-year-old voodoo in our favor that would have made Buck, Lindsay, and Larry very proud.

Jacksonville in the nickel package, they may or may not blitz. Belue, errr...Marrero ... first down on the nine. In trouble, Marrero got a block behind him. Going to throw on the run. Complete on the 25. To the 30, Cory Coles 35, 40, Cory Coles 45, 50, 45, 40. …. Run Cory, 25, 20, 15, 10, Cory Coles! Cory Coles! Cory Coles. {CROWD CHEERING, EXTENDED SILENCE}......Sorry about that, folks, I fell out of my chair!!!, Cory Coles got the touhdown! Cory Coles got the touchdown! Morris Marrero to Cory Coles!!! 91 yards and the Gators kick the extra point and lead!!!

Go Dawgs!!!!

Errr.....GATORS!!!!

....and it happened in Jacksonville, no less!

Marrero throws an intermediate pass intended for Wide Receiver Cory Coles.
He's throwing away from the double coverage.
The ball was caught by Coles.
He's got some room to work.
They are not going to catch him.
That's good for 91 yards and a touchdown!
The receiver ran his route right over the middle of the field.
Coles gained 72 yards after the catch.

Well, at least all those hours of testing have paid off.

Indeed. Finding the Lindsay Scott Exploit took a while, but it has already paid off. ;)

LOL 2X :D

This flight of fancy after an exciting 91-yard, last-minute, game-winning play:

compared to the obligatory PbP notation that:
Quote:

The receiver ran his route right over the middle of the field.
which of course must be made without fail, even in the heat of the moment. Superior wide receiver courage must be recognized and recorded immediately!

PbP in this game leaves much to the imagination. Fortunately, we seem up to the challenge. :)
