Coaches Values
In my SP campaign a coach has now been coach of the year 5 years straight. He has Excellent in motivation, and very good in injury avoidance, but average in all other categories. His team the Broncos, have not lost more than 3 games in each of those 5 seasons. It got me to wondering, my coach is all excellent and one very good, but we don't perform like his team does, close we've not lost more than 5 in any of the past 5 seasons. Do you think coaches have numbers under their ratings like players? Could excellent be from 85 to 100, very good from 70-85, etc? I don't think the scale is from 1 to 6 but from 1 to 100. Is there any evidence of some coaches performing better than others even though they appear to have the same ratings?
In my SP campaign, I solo GM, so I don't gameplan, I allow the coaches to coach. So maybe I'm one of the few that this would matter to, but I found it curious a coach of such low ratings could so consistently win. |

Absolutely, I think this is spot on. But I don't think that one coach's team winning a lot of games has all that much to do with the coach. I reckon he's got better players, likely a better quarterback. That seems to help a lot in the "winning team" department. |

This is absolutely, unequivocably true. When I get home tonight and double-check the list, I can even post what the exact ranges are. Interrogator for 2k4 had to do this conversion to avoid opening a cheat. |
I hired a new Head Coach in my SP league last night. So, piggy-backing on this Thread, which rating is the most important for a Head Coach? I focused on Off. & Def. Playcalling last night, rather than on Motivation and Discipline like I did last time I hired a Head Coach.

Some would say that "Injury Avoidance" is #1 by a longshot.

Could you double-check AND roll into Interrogator 2k7? :D |

It sure ain't discipline. |

(I realize extractor pulls these now, but w/o any consistent ID's. Also, I'd love to have staff histories back.) |
