Guess the Song, 4AM-style

So I'm in bed, and I hear footsteps shuffling in my room. My daughter is coming to ask me something (not my wife...but me). It's 4AM.

Sigh...ok, so what is it that's that important, I wonder. Seems she woke up and wants me to change the radio in her room to a different song (sometimes we'll put the radio or a cd on in my kids' rooms, and we don't always turn them off). *That's* what's so important that you have to wake me up? Just wait a bit and it'll change. "I don't want to listen to the farm music any more." ??? So I go into her room and immediately her problem makes much more sense to me, from the standpoint of a 5yo.

What song was playing on the radio?

Butter 11-27-2007 09:25 AM

The Emergency Broadcast System test pattern.

I got nothin'.

Heh...not that literal on "farm" music. More an interesting classification of what she was hearing.

Getting closer to "farmish" (this probably more so than the actual artist).

Would they actually play that on the radio?

No animals were harmed in the singing of this particular song (though the artist *has* mentioned animals in at least one other song).

Critch 11-27-2007 09:57 AM

Just tell us already.

Pumpy Tudors 11-27-2007 09:58 AM

Not country, but my daughter interpreted the sound as "farm". It's not spot on, but I see where it fits. Either way, she wasn't liking it - gets that from her mom (the song happens to be in my iTunes).

No - but I'm guessing repetition might have been part of what started to annoy my daughter.

War Pigs and the song have a common attribute, and it's not pigs.

Not "farm" enough.

Butter 11-27-2007 11:26 AM

QuikSand would've figured this out 6 hours ago.

Yes, before the post was even made.

cuervo72 11-27-2007 11:27 AM

"Farm" is strictly my daughter's (I assume derogatory) categorization of the sound of the music, fwiw (one I can understand).

Pumpy Tudors 11-27-2007 11:29 AM

"Piano Man"
