25 point boom from an 8th year player

Player boomed 25 points during training camp of his 8th year.

He is a RT and went from a 31/31 to a 56/56. He also became a mentor.

I almost cut him in the offseason but needed a 4th tackle and he was my offensive line leader. Interestingly enough he had been in decline.

Nothing fancy about his previous years stats. I did not change scouts or coaches.

Out of curiosity, what was the player's volitility rating?

Boy, must be nice...I had a 5th year player bust 24 points. Ugh.

Yes. First training camp under new patch.

Also I believe the guys contract was up and I signed him back up during late season free agency.

But why would the patch do that?

nothing stated, just a hunch I have...new patch seems to be unmasking a bit for me...

Vinatieri for Prez 12-16-2007 06:57 PM

This is nothing new. I've regularly seen veteran booms of 20-30 points in past iterations of the game. What happened above is not really an unmasking. It's a vet boom, something entirely different.
