UDFA: What positions do you have the most success with?
 

So, after 6.1a, I'm finding myself playing and enjoying SP again. 4 days, 10ish seasons, boom. The beauty of FOF. We all know about that. :)

I've always been curious about this. With "success", I mean that the guy actually end up being a long-term starter for your team. Well, for me, it has always been centers. Second, I think kickers. In 2K4, I had a lot of success finding undrafted gem QBs, not so much in 2K7.

BTW, I found this one of the most realistic/fun things in SP FOF.

Isaac McCarthy, 10th year center from Purdue, outstanding run blocker.

I don't have any screen shots to show but I have become pretty good at picking out running backs who are not drafted and converting them to other positions. The players then go on to have nice careers. I even had one RB change over to a SS and end up with several pro bowl seasons.

Consistently the UDFA position I have the most success with is CB. I've had some decent nickel/dime/PR/KR come out of UDFA.

Had a couple decent WRs too

My biggest success story of UDFA was a Center that when I signed him had a potential of around 60. Played him in Training camp and as a backup his first season.
After Training camp his second season was around a 70/80, which was higher than my veteran former 1st round all pro (peaked high 80s) that was on the downswing of his career.
By the middle of his 2nd season he had become my starter, and peaked in the mid 90s

Found a starting QB from the UDFA pool once also. He wasn't that great, but was servicable. Picked up a decent career backup or two from UDFA, but mostly just find #3QB filler types

Had another QB in FoF 2004 that was not quite a UDFA success. I had won the Super Bowl one year and of course had the 32nd pick in each round. With the 224th pick (7/32) and last pick in the draft (Mr Insignificant I think is the trophy for this) I took a QB
My veteran SB winning QB got injured the next season. My backup QB was pretty much a bum and I was out of the playoff hunt with a couple games left, so I started Mr Insignificant. Mr Insignificant wasn't much worse than backup bum
The next season the vet QB got hurt again. This time I started Mr Insignificant instead and ended up in the playoffs.
Veteran QB retired after Mr Insignificant's 2nd season, so Mr Insignifcant became the starter. 50k+ yards and a couple Super Bowls later Mr Insignificant was in the Hall of Fame

Well, I haven't been playing much SP, and in MP I've only had one really good UDFA. He was a tight end and so I went with that LOL

In SP, anyways, you can usually find some pretty serviceable backs UDFA. I mean, nobody that necessarily can be a long term starter, but someone that will often times develop enough to be a 2-3 year bridge starter between Dynasty Backs.

In MP, anyways, these type of players go in the 3/4th round.
